EDIT SOLUTION: reason was I tried to install on FAT32 formatted disk - it's impossile
u have to install it on NTFS formated disk :)

Don't use GOG's downloader, but download the files manually from the game card. Maybe the downloader tries to store the files at a temporary location which is indeed full. As said, to circumvent this, disable the GOG downloader.

EDIT: I see you've already tried this. Which operating system do you use? When exactly does the error message appear?

Last time I saw this kind of problem with a disk that had plenty of space, it was because the disk was junction mounted. (In NTFS, you can mount a filesystem under another filesystem, using a "junction point". For example, you can have a small system disk, and a large disk junction mounted so it looks like a folder on the system disk.)

Installers get fooled by junction mounts; they may think the disk where you are trying to install is actually the small parent disk. This causes them to make an incorrect space computation and refuse to continue with the install. Or if you have a small disk mounted under a large one, they may get the computation wrong the other way and allow an install that runs out of space.

Neither the downloader nor the installer has any problem with a disk system that is straightforwardly configured. I've run both on systems with as little as 32GB total disk. But as soon as you mess with the disk structure, that straightforward behavior no longer obtains.

I'm still convinced that something about your filesystems is fooling the installer. This is not a characteristic error except in situations where the installer cannot figure out an unusual filesystem setup.

What is the actual size of each volume and the size in use of each volume? The thing to do in cases like this is to stop believing what you think you know about your filesystems and look again closely.

Do you have any advanced NTFS features like quotas enabled?

Do you have any junctions? Run the command "dir /aL /s C:\" as administrator to see them (replace C with the actual drive letter).

What cjrgreen said is very well possible, you should double check it.

Also take a closer look at disk quotas. Maybe there's a disk space limit for your user.

on C: i have NTFS, and free22,7GB of 199GB, but don't use it for GOG games

Oops, FAT32. I would advise against formatting a drive of this size in FAT32. It's useful for some things, so I keep one myself (32GB), but I wouldn't use it for applications on Windows 7.
There are two big issues with FAT32, that could cause your problem:
1. Maximum size of a file is 4,294,967,295 bytes
2. Maximum amount of files is 268,435,456

If you reach either of these limits you run into a problem.

I'd try installing the game on the NTFS partition C:

... if you decide to convert it, don't forget to make a backup of important files first! ;-)

Well this sucks. Finally got around to trying it and the only partition I have large enough is my FAT32 WIN/Linux common drive. Some other time I guess.
