Samum bombs stay in my quickslot even though I don't have any in my inventory . I've put the harpy traps there and they are in the quickslot in inventory but they don't show up next to the "signs" slot. The samum bombs "picture" is right there next to the "signs" slot. And Gerault can still throw them!

**********Also, I don't seem to need potions anymore. The red life line NEVER moves. Gerault can stand there not fighting a whole league of nekkers and he doesn't die. *********

What can I do now *sigh*

Can you save the game in this situation and send the save file to TW2 support?
I also noticed the bomb in the quick slot thing happening.
I've noticed the quickslots don't empty when you run out of whatever item was loaded in there. But I've not had the situation where you can still throw them.

First of all, are you patched up to 1.2? Some people had an issue with missing or unequipped items showing up in the quickslot before 1.2.

I followed your question on the other thread, and I am still not certain that you understand how to "equip" bombs, traps and knives. (Don't take offense. I just don't find it clear from the comments.) Even with them in your quickslots, you have to cycle through them to get the one you want qued up.

All that said, if you have an issue with Health too that does not go away by loading a save before everything went weird...you may be at the reinstall point.

Don't despair, though. That doesn't mean your saves are trash. Just copy them elsewhere and replace them after a clean install. It probably sounds like strange advice, but it seems it is rarely the saves themselves that are messed up with this game.

Yes, i did install all the patches by uninstall and re installing so those are in there. Every thing was working OK until just now. The health problem has just happened. Not like thats a bad thing! No more meditating to take potions or even running out. Its just weird. I didn't notice the bomb problem until I tried the Harpy contract which I just tried to do.

What do you mean about cycling though to get the quickslot I want? There is nothing in any of those slots EXCEPT the harpy traps. ( and I don't take offense at all). I discovered this particular problem when I was under a harpy nest and 4-5 harpies were attacking when I hit the "R" and absolutely nothing happened. Geralt just stood there getting hit. The traps were definitely in the INVENTORY quickslot but not the other slot next to the signs.

What do you mean I may be at the reinstall point? When I uninstalled and reinstalled it was way before this part.

You can cycle your "pockets" with the 4 key.
As in the one on top of the R key...

I noticed the unforced god mode as well... I think I was a t level 35-37, couldn't level up anymore, and couldn't take any damage

This is confusing, but the game is actually working as designed. There is no bug, and there is no need to reinstall.

To get an item to show up in your quickslot, there are two steps you must follow:

1. In the Inventory screen (press I), move the item to one of your five "pockets". Exit the Inventory screen. Notice that the item does not move to your quickslot yet.

2. In the Pause screen (press Ctrl), select the item, and it moves to your quickslot. Or you can use the "4" key to cycle through the items in your pockets.

If you do not do the second step, the item you previously put in your quickslot stays there. Even if you took them out of your pockets, even if you don't have them anymore.

well, there is a bug in that you still can see the item in the HUD even though you don't have any. This (hopefully) cannot be by design.

No fix at this time for it, though, and it remains the case that the OP didn't go through both steps needed to get an item into the quickslot. Confused the heck out of me until I figured it out, too. In cases like this, the only thing to do is just do it.

I think others have clarified the quickslot questions.

Unbidden God Mode, I dunno there.

I did not know OP had already reinstalled.
Eureka! I found out how to put those pesky traps where I want them and only by mistake when I caught site of a picture of one on the right side as I went to meditate!

Go into your inventory and put the traps in one of the 5 slots on the right. Get out of inventory.

The hit the button you use to change signs, or meditate, and ONE THE RIGHT are "pockets" which show the traps. You can drag one down to a symbol which "loads" the trap. Now the slot next to what sign you are currently using show the trap. Geralt can now put down a trap by pressing R.

Gheesh! I only found this by accident but I am incredibly happy now. Off to do the Harpy nest quest!!!!!!!

I see cjrgreen has given the directions also. I did not see this first before I found it out by myself but I thank him/her for the info.

Also, maybe I don't have a problem with my heath either, but I just have good armor but Geralt is stilll not dying and I kinda like that :)

If you are playing a lower difficulty and have decent armor then that maybe the cause of not getting hurt. Also check the "battle info panel" or whatever it is on the down right corner of the screen when you get hit, if it says <put whatever opponent it is here> deals minimal damage than it is probably armor-difficulty related. If it doesn't say that but instead says <put whatever opponent it is here> deals x damage ( y- amount of armor) then you have a problem.

I saw that stuff coming out but it is so small I can't read it. I'm in the heat of battle at the point that shows so its hard to tell. I'll try harder to read it when I log back in. Gotta lay those harpy traps in the quarry!
