nitro81nj: Thias is COMPLETE and utter bullshit!! I have had this issue for a couple weeks now without any help! I have written many support e-mails to Atari, CD Project and even GOG without even a courtesy e-mail! I have submitted all of the error information and technical specifications of my computer and operating system, plus much more! I don't know what else to do! It's like they do not even care! I paid my money just like everyone else and I expected to play the game with the same courtesy! I need help because I really would like to finish such a good game but it's being spoiled by such horrible technical support! I'm about to contact the Better Business Bureau! What else should I do? Am I wrong to be angry and to seem bitter and impatient? Although I have been extremely patient! What would all of you do if you were me?!
Okay, to add a calmer mind to help clarity as I've been to the BBB on some issues. The BBB won't help you here because its an isolated bug (and it IS a bug..no question) and unfortunately when you installed the game you agreed to a EULA with a clause that says you accept the software as is. They are in Poland but they do have a US distributor but it wouldn't matter either because of the EULA and many other players without this issue.
Now you should still get someone to help with your problem or at least communicate with you. I Agree on that point. I'd say its a synchonization issue, probably due to the fact that the game wasn't properly tested with 6 cores Intel CPU (AMD 6 cores reported okay). Many of us here have found MANY bugs, some of which are frankly, unprofessional and some silly. To CDR's credit they have addressed some and will address more I'm sure. You also mentioned 2 Nvidia Geforce GTX295 cards. (SLR bridged?) which may add more complexity to the problem if they are configured in SLR mode. There were bugs reported with SLR Dual Video cards. There were more problems as well I remember vaguely reading that were Windows 7/Vista specific. This game appears to work best on Windows XP (DirectX9c optimized?) for some odd reason.
what you can do to help yourself and (and the rest of us too) is try communicating to the following e-mail addresses:
Agnieszka.Wasilewska@cdprojekt.com
business@cdprojekt.com
cdprojekt@cdprojekt.com
I hate it when people hide behind Javascript and database forms although I guess spam is a concern. Anyway, these address should be answered by real people I believe although English is likely a 2nd or 3rd language (do you speak Polish?). Try sending your greviences to these address if the support form at www.thewitcher.com doesn't help you.
The other problem is so many others are reporting bugs, flaming and so forth if your message contains personal remarks, cursing or so forth you are more likely to get into the "spam bucket" as junk mail. So try the e-mail address I've given with the specs of your system given here (what you have should be sufficient but indicate services packs if any on your OS) in a professional, business-like manner and you should get a response and apology for delay. I've actually had replies to my stuff here at GOG from some forum managers so I know people at GOG/CDR do read what goes up here. but there is so much of it....
I hope this helps.
Regards.
