Kitako: Yeah, TW2 show that CDPR had to keep marketing in mind (the console bastardization is clear enough), but I still think that's a necessity nowadays.
I disagree that consolization is necessary, or even a smart move. Sure, there's more money there, but also more competition. There are plenty of companies making good money developing purely for PC, and that means they keep more control, don't have to pay console tax, and don't have to compromise their vision. And many PC gamers will love you simply for the fact that you make an uncompromising PC game. Those have been pretty rare lately, so the ones there are get treasured. In fact, many smaller developers get a major part of their revenue from Mac and Linux. It's a small pond, but it's easy to be the big fish there. Less competition, therefore easier to make money, and more love from your customers because they appreciate you thinking about their often forgotten platform.
