Harvall
Forgotten Vran Sword
Caerme
Operator's Staff (well it's counted as one)

Seem best steel sword revolves around these 4
I found Caeme easily but never seen other 3, maybe cuz im on Ioverth's path.

SO can anyone gives me a head-up?

Harvall : Obtainable through the Order swordsmith vendor, provided you sided with the Order at the end of Witcher 1.
Forgotten Vran Sword : It's inside Dethmold's safe (Roche's path), you only get here if you decide to go after Anais instead of Triss.
Operator's Staff (well it's counted as one) : Bygone Era quest (Roche's path), provided that you talk to Ban Ard about the manuscript, on chapter 3 and choose to slay the Operator, instead of accepting the respec.

it feels a bit like cheating, but you can get bygone era quest on iorveth's side too.
i played on rolche's side 1st , so i already knew the location of the manuscript and got it when i crossed the mist to find triss.
Caerme is arguably the best sword you can find. But on Roche's path, there's the Forgotten Vran sword. This one has slightly lower damage but has 3 slots instead of two, making it higher damage in the end.

The Operator's Staff is a valid alternative for certain builds, but its downsides are very slow speed and incompatibility with witcher sword styles.

I've never seen Harvall in this game, but since it's flat-out weaker than Caerme, why would you even want it.

Can you load a save and mark me the spot on the map, please?I'm planning to finish Iorveth path third time, now, would be good if I checked that out.

Head its something imported from witcher 1 which means it might be avaiable earlier than the rest ?

Not the visionary notes. The hut you're looking is on the other side of the camp.

wow, installing it again to answer a question...
I bestow you the title of "good Samaritan" LOL
There are only 3 steel swords imported from Witcher 1, and Harvall isn't one of them. This is a different sword.

look for geralt's marker, it marks the location where you need to go,
the other screen shots are just for hint.
to open the secret location one you re in the basement you have to light the candles in correct order.

Damn...now that is quite a secret...behind the hut behind the mountain? oh come on
It's not that much of a secret. You're sent there as part of a sidequest in Henselt's camp, and on another occasion, later in the game (still on Henselt's side).

Just because you're playing the other half of Chapter 2 doesn't mean it's a secret :P

And, of course, you can benefit from some minor bugs and get a really decent sword in the first chapter.

While the damage isn't impressive, the bonuses must have been mistyped. I mean, really? ;) That is why I'm torn between upgrading and keeping it. Have only found it in my second play through, must be a random drop.

I think you can find superb cutlass in the bandit hideout in chapter 1.
