That message usually means that is DIDN'T install. It only downloaded.

Check the version on your game executable, but pretty sure it didn't take. You likely have a blue icon at the bas of your launcher still...?

Anyway, try going to Document/Witcher 2/Downloads and run Patch_1.2.exe as admin.

If that doesn't get it, start, searching the forum. Somebody beat this problem before.
i run the patcher manualy as admin, and it fails on the update (the error i wrote about before), and everytime i start the launcher it trys to install the patch, fails, and exit the launcher...

anyway, tnx for the reply, ill look for more info in the forum.
You might need to download patch 1.1 which you can find right here on GoG if you go to your account and click on Witcher 2 in the library. Then update to 1.2

Don't open the launcher for starters.

Remove any DLC or mods before patching to 1.1 or 1.2.

This should be helpful.

The near-fail-safe method is:
1. Get patches 1.1 ( ) and 1.2 ( [url=http://en.thewitcher.com/patch1-2/]here). Make sure you download the right version of 1.1 for your game version (retail, gog, regional restrictions...)
2. Un-install game, delete all remaining folders and files except your savegames (this includes the Documents\Witcher 2\Downloads folder!)
3. Reboot, disconnect internet
4. Install the game by starting the setup.exe with 'run as admin'. Do NOT start the game afterwards.
5. Install Patch 1.1 using 'run as admin'
6. Install Patch 1.2 using 'run as admin'

There might be a quicker or easier solution, but if you don't want to mess around long trying to find out what exactly the problem is, this should work.

For most people it is because there are mods in the CookedPC folder that the installer doesn't expect. Clear any mods out and you should be all set.
