Dear Friends

There is a lens flare effect with light in the newest hotfix of ATI drivers.
I have tried to change witcher2.exe to dirt3.exe and it works as workarround, if somebody want a fast fix and it is even good FPS.

Best regards.

Sincerely
it works because it will use the dirt2 profile instead of the witcher2 profile.

But in my case the dirt2 profile never worked very well with the fps very inestable

Outside the tent in the prologue it's 30s using the dirt2 profile. Using the witcher2 one will give me 50-60s in that same zone.

He said dirt 3. Do they use the same profile?
ups, haven't tried the dirt3 profile -_-

edit: tried and same behaviour as in dirt2 profile. not good for the witcher 2

Thanks for saving me the time. It's a nightmare trying to change the .exe in the Steam version.

I seem to be the only person with this problem, but the lights that shine through walls drop my FPS to less than 10, so I don't even get a choice.

I hear ya. I've learned my lesson with a couple newer games now. If I wish to continue using crossfire and not have to jump through hoops to get it work well, I'm going to wait a couple months before purchasing the game. That way, bugs will be ironed out and ATI will hopefully have rectified the problem by then.

cheers/beers,
Mike
For what its worth here is a video showing what this glitch looks like in game.

This has been documented in a number of posts on the web. It is not confined to crossfire either, I experienced it on a single HD 6950. I completely uninstalled AMD CAT 11.5b and reinstalled CAT 11.5a from 05/13/11. With the 1.1 GOG patch I seem to be getting the same performance as I had with 11.5b but without the Flares.
I have yet to encounter the flares with a single 5770.
Dear Friends

I have also single 5850, so I have the same issue as CF users.
Best regards.

If I would to be honest, with or without patch 1.1 and the same for ATI hotfix 11.5b, I have always the same performance, which is in the worst 25 and for the best even 45 FPS. For very long time is 34 FPS.
Fullscreen 1080p, Ultra High without ubersampling.
Best regards.

Those who have one card, do you have installed any CAP like 11.5 CAP1 or CAP3? the problem might be there.Or maybe not -_-
Dear neonism

Yes, CAP1 and then CAP3.
Best regards.

Sincerely
since CAPs are mostly for Crossfire users, try to uninstall them and see if the flare effect disappears.
