mico11: It's a console gamer ported to PC.

There is nothing to separate it as a PC game, even the UI is a clunky controller mess.

There are high res textures here and there, but even those are inconsistent.

The game also plays like a poorly optimized port.

Just WATCH IT run good and look good on the 360.

jklinders: None of that makes a whit of sense. Your bridge outside of Flotsam is in dire need of repair. Go home for the sake of your bridge.
agreed. and lay off the vodka!

jklinders: Close enough. Seriously what the hell is the big deal? Please explain to this veteran of PC gaming why this is the end of the world. It's not like it's the Mass Effect 1 UI or anything. I'm not compelled to sit there and convert items into omni gel fro 15 mins after every fight so what is the big deal?

it's not perfect but it works. But oh nos, we don't have the 1990s style character doll to play dress up with Geralt so it's ruined. But only after we find out it's being ported. Sheesh.

oEDLIo: ME1 UI was the worst I've ever seen. A typical PC game that is heavy on loot usually have a grid based UI. The console version because of the lack of the mouse has a scrolling inventory.

Look at WoW for example or even the first Witcher. You hit "I" and everything is quickly selectable and visible. You don't have to scroll down in different menues just to find that one item you need.
If you remember though the emphasis there was on the alchemy not the phat lewt. Let me paint you a picture. Let's just go to a grid type system with the item set up of the current game. We now have loads of weapons being carried around, monster parts, trophies crafting components, herbs several types of armour (rather than one), items that are only good for selling. the cluttered mess we'd get in a grid system would be unusable...OR we'd have to tab it out like in Neverwinter Nights 2. Neither is more efficient than what we have now. One of them is a hella lot worse than what we have now. The olde ways are not always the best ways.

You must have some delusional disorder if you think this game will run and look near as good on xbox
I'll admit there are some things that could be better optimized but nothing major that prevents me from enjoying this game
Maybe you should redirect your anger on your crapy pc or your inability to adapt
I'm fine with xbox crowd geting to enjoy this game as much as wast majority of PC gamers does and I'm sorry you dont... it's your losse

Of course you're gona use a tab layout for the grid system. You can't just show everything in one screen. You can have different tabs like they are now for books, alchemy, weapons and so on but when you open a tab instead of a scrolling layout it would have been better if it had a grid. That way you would easily tell how much nekker eyes you have for example.

Mass effect 1 would have removed a lot of headache if it adopted a grid system for the PC version instead of the scrolling one but of course Bioware didn't bother to make a new UI for PC. For their new PC exclusive though surprisingly enough they're adopting a grid system. Why? Because that's the perfect system when you have a mouse, it's only when the game is supposed to be played with a controller that we see a cluster**** UI.

Different strokes. I can use both, both are fine for me. I'm against making people work more than they need to for something that is purely cosmetic. We're not goiung to agree but I appreciate the civil intelligent chat. It's the first I've had in here since the forums blew up for no reason yesterday.
