Hey, as the title suggests, I'ver been unable to activate The Witcher 2. I've entered the key in all caps, lower case, dashes inbetween the digits and without dashes :[

I've looked around and haven't been able to find any helpful solution yet, maybe I just suck at searching for things. I saw that Patch 1.1 is changing the activation and DLC activation process but the details as to what was changing were not posted.

You should be able to copy and paste your activation key, thereby eliminating any possibility of mistyping it.

If it still doesn't work, then let us know what version of the game you have (Steam, retail, GoG).

I own a physical copy of the premium edition of the game - I cant copy/paste the key :[

You tried replacing zeros with Os, or vice versa I assume?

I just tried replacing the 0 with an 'O' - The launcher stayed on 'looking for updates' then closed back down. So it changed something :]

Yea, I don't really know what happens with retail. The GoG version doesn't go through that process. But, it sounds like you might have at least gotten your key input correctly. :p

I think there is a problem with the website or something, i have been trying to register my game for a couple hours now and the connection times out.
I have been able to get logged in once, but when i entered the code the connection kept resetting or timing out.

Yeah, just sucks that I have to type in the code every time i launch the game at this point :[

@ Neros666 - I heard that CDProjekt were applying the new patch today, could be the reason, guess I'll try again tommorow

I have the same problem. Retail version of the game. It's not an issue with replacing O with 0 or 1 with L. The problem looks to be that the servers that acknowledge the activation codes are not responding. Don't know how to confirm this. Disabling virus checker and firewall doesn't do anything.

Others were also having this issue and suddenly it all started working for them. They didn't make any changes on their end. Can anyone confirm?

fyi, start game as administrator

Cheers for the reply Sereena. If I try to run the game without administrator privileges it tells me to run it as admin and closes the program :]

Finally started working after 2 hours. Don't waist your time checking or changing pc setting, the problem is not on your side. Just make sure you start the game as Admin if your not sure of your security settings.

Unlock request code? For DLC I imagine? Anyway mines updating now, 9th times a charm :] Will keep you posted

After I got the Unlock request code failure, thats when you hit back and change the serial number from 0 to O. That worked for me.
