vAddicatedGamer: How I wish I could do the same elsewhere in life.

I go to a theatre. I watch the movie till the end. Oh yeah, the plot totally sucked. I'm unsatisfied. I'm not paying for my ticket.

I go to a restaurant. I ordered a meal, I finished the whole plate. Oh yeah, a bit too salty. Not enough spices. I'm unsatisfied. I'm not paying for the meal.

I go to rent a car. I drove it for a few hundred miles. Oh yeah, I didn't like the controls. It doesn't accelerate fast enough. I'm unsatisfied. I'm not paying the rental fees.

I go to university. I attended a few courses. Oh yeah, I didn't like the lectures. I feel the professors could have emphasized more on this topic and spend less time in trivial subjects. I'm unsatisfied. I'm not paying the tuition.
1. Real material world.

2. virtual material world.

Doesn't make sense, but its just a reference between two different entities.

But note, I haven't mentioned that in a restaurant you can down right complain and they will cater.. because you pay the money later.

in a theatre you can't do much, you payed it before hand..conned or misled if the movie is bad.

In a rented car, it depends..you can SUE if the brakes fail or you get fined for not accelerating fast enough from a red light or get hit be another vehicle before you didn't accelerate fast enough. (can you SUE a game developer, will the developer make changes to the game!..will the publisher entertain such a request )

In a university, you can down right protest...peacefully..or sue to the education governering body. Will a game developer or publisher entertain it!. nope...(99% of the time), is there a governering body for video game makers/sellers..nope..

I go to a brothel. I pay for a few girls.

Oh yeah, they ended up being trannies.

I'm unsatisfied. I'm not paying the brothel.

You can, though. Music is played on the radio/internet radio/various streaming services for free. You can listen to the entire song and decide whether or not to buy it. You can wait for movies to be played on TV, or even rent them for a small fee.

None of these opportunities are available with games, which is completely different than other forms of media. Renting a car or buying a meal is a physical thing and not paying in the scenarios you mentioned would result in a clear loss for the company, whereas in the case of piracy, no one is actually losing money from piracy. They're just not making as much as they think they could make by forcing pirates to pay, just as with music and movies.

I'd liken games more to those two things for that very reason, with the only difference being that those are two mediums that provide plenty of options to gauge quality prior to purchase. The only option for games is to purchase or not purchase a title on blind faith, with absolutely no way of knowing what you're supporting. By the time you know whether you've put money toward future iterations of garbage or quality, it's too late to actually do anything about it. Games are being developed based on people voting blindly with their wallets for hype rather than what they actually want, and that's ridiculous to me. Money clearly speaks louder than outraged fans on the internet (DA3 being a real thing is proof of this).

So... does that make the penis in this case DRM? Both are extra, inconvenient, and only end up hurting you in the end.

We need to talk about your taste in brothels, by the way.

Your name and icon really befits that gedankenexperiment. Oh wait, no, this scenario actually took place, didn’t it?

It's easy being tough behind a keyboard in your Mother's flooded basement, but we both know you're just an angry little wimp.

Stop trolling, it's not my fault you looked like a fool in another thread, it's your fault for being a fool.

And you've showed how much a fool with this post.

Only a 6 year old or an idiot bereft of any intelligence would comment on a member's forum name and icon.

Which one are you?

methinks you did not get it, so lets change them around a little.

you SNEAK into a theatre and watch the full movie, sucked so you wont pay for a ticket to a later screening.

you eat a meal, the meal was alright, you finished it but you were not as satisfied as you thought so you dine and ditched to avoid paying.

you are taking the examples to seriously. they are what ifs and not what you can do or what will happen. either way to are taking a product in, for free. and it took money to make and the people who made it need to pay bills.

you are despicable, just by the fact that you play the whole game though, i dont think people would get more then a few minutes to figure that out half an hour tops. demos exempt.

you may think you have the right but you really dont. the only reason you even believe that you can is simply because you are anonymous. but one day it may even bite you in the ass, since courts have already seen cases involving pirates, and it can cost far more then if you payed for the games or done the sane thing. you never have the right to pirate. and better yet, its easy for the law to figure out you did
In that case, what do I do with Dragon Age 2 DVD's!.game sucked.

I cannot complain on Bioware forums (or cannot email to tech support), because the result will be BAN..no longer be able to play the game**** the DLC purchase will also be void.

What does one do!..

Played Dragon Age 2 demo, it was nice..final game..SHIT..I kept playing the game as chapters progressed thinking that "OK it has not yet started, it will be great at the end"..but game ended with big FAIL...BIGGEST FUCKING FLOP....PLUS I got a COMPLAIN..GAME HAS GAY CONTENT** GAYY..HOMO's being forced onto YOU...

Again I ask you; what to do with Dragon Age 2 DVD!..

Take your pick, there are too many to chose from. :)

OK, I'll give you one, "A FPS must be a QTE".

And then the next day, "Did that come out wrong".

Anyway, you've displayed your lack of intelligence right here by commenting on a forum user's name.

That's something only 8 year olds or people with low intelligence/maturity do.

Which one is it? :)

Start over and play a gay character? Could teach you to stop being so rampantly homophobic. Also you need to have less unreasonable requirements as to whether a game is worth it, if you just decide even the slightest flaw is worth not buying the game over then you're nothing but a freeloader.

That game has many flaws.
Dragon Age 2 wasn't perfect but you're taking the piss a bit by playing it through to the end and then saying "well I didn't like the ending". But you're going so very far beyond taking the piss with your demands for Witcher 3 that even if it hit every one of those unreasonable demands there's not a chance on this earth you would accept it and pay up, rather find some ridiculously petty reason not to do so.
I was just being sarcastic, against people who were convincing that playing the game without buying it is in good sense.

(I am leaving hook from this topic, its going somewhere else)

As for Dragon Age 2, threw the copy away many days ago.

Neither. It’s someone with a sense of humor. Something you have proved awfully clearly to be lacking.

That just proves my point more, thanks. :)

Remarking on a member's forum name is childish, something an 8 year old would do and find funny.
