About the sales of this game is it 400.000 retail, or does it include D2D, Steam, GOG ?
since GOG was there i would assume it includes GOG
That's not a bad number for a PC-only game from a relatively unknown developer.

Only ?

Apart from Sims and Blizzard's games very few games manage to sell that much in only a week especially PC exclusive (well not exclusive anymore...).
1st week, yes, 400k retail and digital
For one week of a pc exclusive from a niche developer, it's actually pretty decent.
Well, I read that the budget for Witcher 2 was 8 million $, if that is true then 400K units in a week is literally more than profitable if we assume that the price pr. unit is approx. 50$.

50$ X 400.000 Units = 20 million $ :-)

I'd say that CDPR is profitable.
400,000 in one week is huge; that's Dragon Age 2 numbers while DA2 was still selling off Dragon Age: Origins laurels.

I wouldn't be surprised if CDP was 'hoping' for a 200,000 to 250,000 unit first week.

No, it's not decent.
It's a fucking lot.
they only needed 100k sold to make even :p so that is 300% pure profit :PPP
For Zeus! The first take one year to achieve 1 M. Tw2 is out for some weeks.
It took The Witcher 1, one year to sell 1 million, and that was after they released the Enhanced Edition.
so I think they are happy with 400k in the first week :)
When will people understand that the developers don't get 100% of the game's price as income? CDPR only gets 100% of the price if the game has been bought via GOG.com. Otherwise, the developer gets the most part, just like record labels.
Also, Michał Kiciński said in an interview that as far as they know W2 is the fastest-selling PC game ever. Erm... WoW: Cataclysm sold 3.3 million copies in 24 hours.

Cataclysm is an expansion. You can't compare that. Especially not if it is needed as soon as possible to be on par with others. The quality could be shit the first 24h would still have enormous sales ;)
