It will rev up really high for a while, then either slow on it's own, or after I save or enter an area. And my PC is WAY more powerful than needed to play this game. I can play the second game on medium settings.

It tends to run the GPU wide open throttle. Unless you force Vsync, there's no frame rate limit, so the GPU is going to run at full power. TW2 does the same, again unless you enable Vsync.

I've also seen it run the CPU at one core 100%. So even for an old game, it stresses your hardware pretty good.
I don't see a v-sync option.

The game doesn't have Vsync, but you can force Vsync with nVidia's Control Panel or AMD's CCC.

But this game makes even normally cool-running cards like a GTS 450 or HD 6670 heat up and crank up their fans.
