There was an update but nothing in library has the 'updated' tag...
In game music have been removed because the licensing expired ; ))
But seriously, an update log would be a great feature, even on the forum for the time being.

Screw you! My heart stopped for a second there. :D

Nah, good one. Sadly there was no update flag for any specific files but I just added the Windows version to the GOG downloader and it is actually updating the files that I had already downloaded a few months ago. Which is odd, if it were an actual update it should rather be downloading new files with a different version number. Would be great to know what's going on there. Argh, ninja'd. But Judas' post makes things even weirder. As I said, the Downloader did recognize that my Windows installer along with all the BIN files requires updating. Oh well...

I did the same and it isn't downloading any files. Maybe a file or two were corrupt in your case.

Which makes things even weirder. As I just wrote in the "what did just update" thread: I last fully downloaded the game in May 2013. I played it earlier this year and before doing so I added it to the downloader, just in case, and it was not updated (the "last modified" date was still May 2013). Now it is being updated. It's odd.

Sorry about that, I just couldn't help myself ; ) I have wondered myself what it might be. Looking for an excuse to play The Witcher one more time, even if I have finished game twice this year.. Anyway. no updates for me neither on gog nor steam and no one is knocking my doors down to take away my dvd's ; )

It's because the windows installer has been updated to include french installer text.

Maybe for windows did not add anything, but I assure you that on mac have been made wonders.
The game is now finally native, runs perfectly.
With the previous version was spinning so disgusting that I had to redo the port again. Now he is a native, I almost want to cry for what works well.

It looks like the system specifications are much higher now though. I'm pretty sure my system used to meet them (early 2009 iMac), but looking at The Witcher store page my computer is now well below the minimum specs :(. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to keep the Wine version.

EDIT: Yes, not my imagination, attached is a screenshot of the old system requirements. Went from 2MB RAM to 4MB RAM, and higher graphics cards too.

May I ask (since this is my first time seeing it), how do you update via GOG?

I basically just downloaded the Installer again, but since I don't see any duplicate files, can I just assume the setup file has been updated successfully? Do I need to run setup again?

Thanks for any info on the matter!

But before it worked really bad.
Think of one thing, in the Macbook Pro Retina 15 '' 2012 it really worked like crap.
Now it works perfectly, I think now even the minimum functions better than before.

So try it out, give it a chance. I'm sure it will work better.

As was mentioned before: only the Mac version got updated in this case so if you're a Windows user nothing should have happened this time.

Anyway, yeah, in case of GOG there's so far two ways how games get patched. Normally an "updated" flag should appear next to the corresponding files so you know which one it is.
a) The entire installer gets updated. The version number changes and downloading the game again results in a new installer file (or several new installer files - if it's a larger game that additionally to the executable comes in BIN files) with the new version number. In these cases you *should* uninstall and reinstall the whole game to be safe.
b) A patch is added to the downloadable files. Just download that one and execute it and the existing installation will be updated accordingly.

If you add a game to the downloader that has already been downloaded in the current version the downloader should only do a quick scan and only redownload it if there's either been at least small changes (which for some reason did not result in a higher version number) or your previously downloaded files are corrupted.

Anyway, if there's been an actual notable update you should always end up with a new file with a higher version number.

I'm downloading it to try it out, but I don't have high hopes it will run (my computer has only: Intel Core Duo 2.66GHz/ 2GB RAM / 256MB VRAM)
