Hi all,

We've uploaded a new Mac DMG ( the_witcher_2.2.0.6.dmg ) to your game shelves. Please download the new DMG in order to get the latest updates to the game :)

Changes for this new version:

-a few issues fixed including "minimum requirements not met" problem tackled for over 4GB vRAM GPUs and language selection defaulting to English after restart issue.

-fixed the save crash when switching languages.

Thanks and have a nice day :)
Just to make sure so I don't download the whole thing in vain again: this does not lower the system requirements back to be on par with the Windows version, does it?

No, sorry :(
Is the game Dragonsphere'ing for anyone else, or is it just me?

Can you please confirm, is this new version made by VirtualProgramming and uses eON?

Either that, or the game has received a metric fuckton of updates today...
Aaaaargh! The Dragonsphering! Make it stop!

Note to self: Take care not to use "Dragonsphere" as a verb in conversations outside the GOG.com forum.

Yes! That's exactly it. They love us and want our games to always be up-to-date.
Thank you for the update!

I thought I'm out of luck with those minimum system requirements as I have "only" old radeon hd 4850 in my iMac late 2009... But newer radeon hd 6750m is probably less powerful, because I tried new version of Witcher yesterday and it runs quite fine for me in 1080p (not a smooth 60fps, but it's playable without lags)...

well, it's probably because of that rebranding of rebranding of rebranded old card... http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-6750M-Mac-vs-Mobility-Radeon-HD-4850-Mac
Graphics cards are a mess in that regard. The game page currently lists the following minimum requirements:
nVidia GeForce GT 650m (1440x900), AMD Radeon HD 6750M (1440x900) or Intel HD 5000 (1366x768)
These numbers do not mean anything. I have an early 2009 iMac with an nVidia 9400M, and 9400 is bigger that 650, so shouldn't it be better? There is no external logic behind this, you have to get spec sheets off the internet and compare manually, which is impossible if you have no idea what any of those terms even mean.

Anyway, my GPU is strong enough to run the game on Windows (not very fluid and with reduced settings), but it can be played. I assume this is a driver thing with the new native ports, as the Windows version is running fine in Wine. The native port won't run at all.
yet another one I gotta go to the forum to find out whats updated. what happened to the update icon just to tell us what was updated X_X
Runs okay on my new Mac Pro, doesn't run at all on my kids older iMac (Yosemite 10.10.1 / 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / Radeon HD 2600) — unresponsive black screen. I played the game under Wine on that machine years ago, guess I'll try that again.
