Hi,
I've reinstalled The Witcher EE and once I've reached the Outskirts of Vizima I've noticed that the game stutters when I move around as if loading something. The stutter is very short, less than a second, but it's noticeable and it occurs at a few seconds interval.

OS: XP SP3
CPU: Intel i5-2400
MB: Intel DH67CLB3
RAM: 4Gb
GPU: XFX 250 GTS
PSU: Corsair 550vx

I know it's not graphic related because I've tried the game on low settings and it behaves the same. I've also tried to set the cpu affinity to only one core with no success.
When I played it on the first time I had a different cpu an E8400 and a 9600 GT video card. I don't recall having this stutter then.

I've also tried the game on a different computer and I still have the problem.

Anyone else had this issue ?

I noticed this behavior when I played, but it only happened sometimes, and when Geralt WASN'T running around everything was perfectly smooth. It also seemed that Geralt's running speed varied a bit... sometimes he would run really fast and perfectly smooth, other times he was slower and it had the "stutter" that you mention. I ended up just living with it, so I don't know if there's a fix. It might just be the game's normal behavior.

Probably due to loading, especially if you see the disk activity light during periods of stutter.

This can actually be more noticeable on high-performance systems, because (1) the game thinks it can load more and bigger resources, and (2) frame rate drops stand out more. Compounding this problem is the fact that these high-performance systems are usually still using mechanical disks, which are the slowest component of your system.

A gameplay tactic (and not an unreasonable one, to my thinking) that can help with this is to stop, turn all the way around, and enjoy the scenery for a second when entering a new area. Not when an echinops is shooting thorns at you, of course.

It happens when I move in an area that is supposed to be already loaded, I don't know what the game keeps loading in the background. I get stuttering even though I move 10 feet ahead and then 10 behind. I tend to think it's something related to the game not being optimized for multicore platforms.
