nondeplumage, I think your reaction was appropriate...partly because Geralt's reaction was exactly the same. He completely shrugs it off!! He goes, "I guess we'll never know...so anyway, how 'bout the weather??" It's like the game is discouraging you from caring about it.

I agree with cjrgreen that there was sufficient foreshadowing in Alvin's story. The only problem was how indifferently the ending was presented.

Man, I was so emotionally attached to this stupid game. Then the ending happened.

One of my absolute favorite moments is in the ending cinematic, where Geralt walks out of the king's office with his bag of gold. That little smile he has for a split second on a job well done, that was priceless.

One of my favorite lines in the whole game is in the very end. Geralt simply says to Dandelion "I'm tired." For some reason, that really seems powerful to me after all Geralt and I, as the player, have been through.
