Just got The Witcher today.
During the intro movie the sound is interrupted at times. It seem to be interrupted when the level of action in the movie gets increased.
I have an Audigy 2 ZS as audio card.
This question / problem has been solved by Arpogestimage
I found that there was a single "skip" in the audio during that intro also, not always in the same place in the intro, but close. I never actually figured out how to fix it, and as it was just one skip I didn't worry about it much. I had no audio issues in the game itself.
I got that too. Nothing is wrong your PC
What audio cards do you have?
Any solution?
I have an HT Omega Claro Plus card. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually in issue with the game itself rather than sound hardware. Do you have any sound issues during gameplay, or is it just the intro?
I noticed a small skip in sound during the intro too. Played the steam version on the same system and never had that happen. Must be something to do with the GOG version.

My skip happens with my disc version. I haven't actually tried the GOG version yet.
The Witcher has many, many audio issues, based on all the discussion I've seen on its official site. Chances are the problem with the video might be related to codecs you have installed on your system - I recall a few years ago that the intro video did not play properly for me until after I made sure ffdshow wasn't being used in it. Either way, though, it's not that big a problem in the end. Watch it outside of the game to make sure it plays properly, maybe?

Good tip, I'll take a look at the installed codecs.
In may case it's not like just a little sound skip, I miss the sound on almost 2/3 of the intro but with intermittent blips from time to time (where sound "tries" to reappear). I have this issue only during movies (intro and ingame movies). During gameplay everything is fine.
I haven't tested yet if the movies can be played properly separately.

PS: Now I'm at work having a slight headache because I stayed late tonight playing witcher... :)
Same here, on X-Fi Xtreme Gamer. Plus in my case intro has a little mismatch between audio and video before this single skip. Another problem I've already seen is black screen(game hangs) between chapters instead of cinematics while EAX is enabled.
Hurray! Here is the fix: download and replace binkw32.dll with older version.

Still EAX-problem is not fixed...

Nice find! Thanks. I'll test this later.
Also found a little more elaborated post describing this:

EDIT: Jut tested. Yep, it works fine now. Thanks!
Binkw32.dll needs to be downgraded to version 1.9.1.0 and it works just fine.

had problems with audio also, this works. thanks alot!
I just wanted to add that I tried this solution, even though I only had a very minor "skip" in the audio. Turns out it was worse than I thought... now that I introduced the fix, I found that my intro had actually been dropping whole frames, which led to the audio being out of synch slightly and the narrator talking at the wrong times. The intro is much nicer with this fix.

So: Even if you think your intro is pretty much working, I recommend trying this out. There were several bits that I literally hadn't even seen when running it before.

Hello. I will just post here instead of creating a new topic if that's all right. I just purchased 'The Witcher' from this site yesterday. I have the sound issue and wanted to try replacing the 'binkw32.dll' file with the 1.9.1.0 version since it apparently helped many others, but the link above to the gamefront site that was hosting it says it is not there anymore. Would anyone kindly help me find that file elsewhere or send me one? Thank you.

Oh btw, I'm running Windows XP sp3 and I have the Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum sound card.
