I tried searching the forums and didn't find anyone else asking this - does anyone know how to get rid of the stupid UAC shield that covers half of the icon in Windows 10? I have UAC disabled, I am the administrator, I've tried turning off "run as administrator" in the settings (though, from what I understand, the game needs to be run as administrator in order to save) but nothing works. It's driving me nuts having that ONE ICON on my desktop that's marred by that stupid shield.

Right click on the witcher icon and select properties.
Then change icon, and select the current icon, and confirm administrator approval.
Then before you click apply and OK on the main shortcut tab,
Go to the Target field and put C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c start ""
with a space before the " that is already there. (See Pic.)
Then Apply, then OK.

Thank you!!! I searched so many forums online and I found something similar to that, but it didn't work. This worked perfectly!

When you start The Witcher now, do you get a UAC screen asking you if you want to run Windows Command Processor?
If not, then you got the syntax wrong.
Did you type it in yourself, or did you copy and paste what I showed, and did you leave a space between the "" and the "?

- Перейдите в установочную папку игры ( C:\GOG Games\The Witcher Enhanced Edition\System)
