I'm sure that they'll have it ready to go soon :).
I have the same problem I've paid through PayPal and I can not reach it through the GOG donwloader or via browser. Maybe tonight it will go normally.
I've waited until past midnight, but I'm giving up for now. I'm leaving the Downloader up for the night in the hopes that it will automagically refresh and download when it's ready. I doubt it, but it's worth a shot. Hopefully it'll be ready in 7 hours when I have to get up for work and I can have it download while I zombie through the day.

Yep, same problem here. I'm not going to lie, my first experience with GOG has not been very pleasant.

fjdgshdkeavd: Don't worry, they'll fix it. It's not supposed to be up until tomorrow anyway.

Note also that gog is literally charging 1/4 of the price that Steam is charging.
Oh, it's not going to put me off from using GOG in the future. I'm simply stating that my first purchase has not gone as smoothly as I had hopped.

As to when it's supposed to be up, I would argue that as soon as it changed over from "coming soon" to "add to cart" was the correct release date. One could also reasonably assume that a polish company would use CEST when determining what "tomorrow" means. In that case it has been "tomorrow" for several hours. It may still say "tomorrow" but that would imply that it's not coming out until the 11th, in direct contradiction to the information that have released previously.

That being said, I'm not going to throw a hissy fit over this, I have played through the game before and I have a physical copy sitting around my house somewhere, I'm just too lazy to find it. So I figured I would kill two birds with one stone so to speak, support the developers I love and get a digital DRM free copy.
Have to admit, I'm disappointed that I can't start downloading it now, but hell, we're getting it for dirt cheap and DRM free. I can wait another day.
A damn shame that this release would end up with problems. :(

EDIT:

But not to worry, because the folks at gog, will meet at work in about an hour according to GMT +1

I have the same problems as anyone else, but it's not like the won't fix it. Look at it this way, it is a good trial for GOG with TW2 just around the corner. If they catch kinks in the system then you don't have to deal with the problems on that day. Atleast I have the extras which is good. Take some time out and listen to the soundtrack if you haven't already. It is spectacular and well worth the $4.99 alone.

bigsilverhotdog: GOG is awesome, you won't be disappointed. [...][ I already own DVD release[...] but I'll gladly buy it here in support of GOG.
Same thing here to. I'm rebuying it. Not only am I supporting GOG, but I figure that this way I know I'll have a version compatible with my computer when I upgrade systems.

I was wondering what version of the patch is in The Witcher do not know how it works for www.gog.com I bought the first time here so I do not know whether the game will automatically update the latest version here as it is steam. I know so much that the latest patch is v.1.5.
Looks like the web download is now working.

When I try to run the setup file, it says it's corrupted. Anybody else getting this?

GOG games include the latest official patches, so the Witcher will already be updated to 1.5

Fayte19: I'm having the same problem.
You need to download all six files before you run the installer.
