I just saw this promotion for TW2 --> http://www.gog.com/en/witcher2/backup/

Which is a lovely idea and I thank CDPR and GOG for providing it.

My question is has this also been made available for TW1?
I purchased the boxed copy of The Witcher and shortly there after found GOG and picked up TW2 here :) I love the service and security of having a game on my GOG wall and so when I saw the promotion I wondered if perhaps it had also been made available for the first Witcher as well at some point? I would love to have a GOG backup copy of my Witcher purchase as well :)

Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

No, it's only for the Witcher 2.

Actually, it works for both.
Yep, the page says explicitly:

The Witcher or The Witcher 2. Don't be confused by the URL itself.
If you bought a hard copy and it hasn't arrived yet, is there any way to redeem on GOG via the promotional, or do you need the game in hand for that?
I think you need the product code. If you know how to get it from your order - it can help.
I ordered from amazon. So I have an Order #, but not the product number.
Not sure then. You'll probably have to wait until it arrives.
My retail copy arrived super early. Yay! Problem is the code doesn't seem to be working.

Is it the 28 character code that is on the white sticky label at the back of the manual? Or would it be located somewhere else? Is it only the last 20 characters?

This is for the Witcher Enhanced Edition (Platinum Edition). I want to make sure I'm using the right number before going through the photo taking/signature process.

Edit: Sent in the photo/signature anyway.

I really have no idea - I don't have a hard copy. Try contacting GOG support directly.

Thanks. I overcame my laziness and just took the picture.
