Hey guys ! I bought the Witcher 2 boxed with my brand new computer but since I've never really made some Good ol' PC Gaming since 2006 because I was too poor to afford myself a a PC and upgrades, I missed a lot of great titles including The Witcher 1, wich I plan to buy on GOG.com (cheaper than Steam) sooner or later. I'd like to know some things about it before.

1) I've heard the game was incompatible with Windows 7. is this true (at least with GOG)
2) does it have Controller support ? like the second game.
3) does it have the same kind of non-linearity The Witcher 2 haves.
4) Is this a long game ?

thanks for answers ! I really enjoyed the second game I just finished but I found my experience incomplete by not playing the first game.

2 - I have yet to play the second, so I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by controller support.
3 - It's very linear. There are a few big options you get to chose from, but you ultimately arrive at the same outcome.
4 - It can be. There are a number of side quests, but some of them (ie the fetch quests) get old fast and can be skipped. Even if you power through the game, it will still be kinda long.

This is true; there is no native controller support in The Witcher 1. But, some players have been able to program controllers to play the game, so it is possible to play with a controller if you don't mind having to make lots of tweaks yourself. Check out this thread:
