Shade151: Lots of out of sync audio in cinematic cutscenes. Once upon a time I had it working perfectly, then my pc died. Many years later trying to get it working again I stubble back to these forums only to find the links I used in common fixes have long since been taken down. Anyone still have a copy of the working binkw32.dll file?
Hickory: It's used by RAD Video tools, but acquired by installing/re-installing your game.
DON'T download it from so-called dll sites. From the Bink FAQ:
Q.
Someone told me to get a new Bink DLL or to download the RAD Video Tools to get a new DLL to fix my game - why doesn't this help? A.
Because it's lousy advice. Bink DLLs are NOT replaceable! If you copy a different version of the DLL onto another pre-compiled application (like a game), then you are likely to crash. The RAD Video Tools don't even have the Bink DLL built into them, so this will have absolutely no effect. Please contact your game maker for support. Okay..... but the older version of the file that was included with the older version of the Witcher 1? I'm pretty dang sure that was what fixed the cinematics for me all those years ago..... Unless you have a better suggestion? To fix the odd audio sync? It's close, under about 2 seconds, maybe as low as 0.5, but it bugs the living heck out of me.
Shade151: Audio and/or Video Skips / Stutters in Opening Cinematic: Often just a minor skip, but actually means that some frames are being dropped in the cinematic and the sound gets out of sync.
[EDIT: This may have been fixed with the newer v2.0 download from GOG]
1) Back up the file binkw32.dll contained in your Witcher folder, and then replace it with the one found here.
