This post confused me slightly, do you mean you already played the first witcher and just rebought it to support CDPR? Or do you mean you bought witcher 2 and decided to buy witcher one as well to give money to CDPR. If you never played Witcher before you may as well try it, the graphics are still good. I usually just play console games and Witcher still looks as good as most Xbox 360 games to me. I also read someplace the saves from the first Witcher have some effect on Witcher 2.

I didn't play Witcher 1.. I bought this to support CDPR. Probably not much time before TW2 comes now.

I have just done the same thing. I played about 30 minutes of The Witcher at my friends and didn't really enjoy it much (I was into diablo-like hack-n-slash games at that time but my style always changes), but all of this hype over The Witcher 2 got me into the series. I have preorderd the second and Just bought The Witcher 1. I'm not sure If I'll play the first since 2 will be out by the time I finish downloading 1.

My real question is, how much have I really supported them by buying the the origional? It was only $4.99 and I'm sure gog gets a cut. Would CDP get more money if I would have paid $20 for it on steam instead? I would honestly rather pay more for it here than on steam just to support gog since they are great and 98% of all of my gaming money goes towards steam anyway. But I can't help to wonder how much I really supported anyone when it was only $4.99. :P

Hopefully more developers will open their eyes in the future and work with gog too.

CDP and GOG are sister companies so whole $5 went to them :p. And if u want sopnsor company you can always order collector's edition.

I've played my retail version of Witcher once and I ddn't get too far. When it came here, I decided to give it another try. Sadly, the patching required me to register my copy, which I was unable due to some error and I wanted to patch it, since the first patches did improve the horrible loading times and such (I don't own EE, but the first version that came out).

Then I decided to buy The Witcher here again lest I had to deal with the patching again. Now I have to find enough free space on my HDD.....
