I will never trust them again on a re-release.
This game just doesn't work no matter what you do.
I've spent 3 days on "fixes" for something that should work out of the box when running on GOG.

Get your shit together.

Given the combinations of hardware and software that exist, GOG can't guarantee a game will run straight out of the box for everyone. Contact Support if you haven't already.

I tried this on a Ryzen 5800X with Nvidia 1080ti, failed.
Tried it on Intel 12700k with AMD 6800XT, failed.
Tried it on an ancient 4770k with 980ti, failed.

The whole point of a wrapper is to make it work on Modern Hardware, that is the absolute minimum that they have to do to get this working, and they didn't even get that working.

It's working for most who have tried it. Your experience appears to be an outlier. I'm sorry you're dealing with issues, but the problem is not as widespread as your comments imply.

If you are getting a black screen on launch try installaling quick time lite - with several games installing different versions of quick time they can conflict and mess up causing black screen on launch.

I had major issues launching getting stuck on black screen until the above fix. It may ask you to remove quick time first if that is installed - do that.

This version works on new computers just fine. I've played multiplayer online with 30-40 different people already. Maybe try joining the Discord and asking for help there before you smear the game here?

Running the game on a 6900XT @ 4k, Win11, 3900X, 32GB ram--runs great. No problems.

I've got the original game still--and that's what I'm running.

Downloaded via GOG Galaxy on my gen4 i5 shitbox running Win10 and ... works beautifully. Even better than I remembered it. I wonder what makes you and your three computers so special.

If you have rivatuner running try running it with that closed. I found a few older games it stops or crashes.

Siding with OP here, this game doesn't want to run. Tried all the crap everyone keeps saying to download (even dug up a file that was removed from moddb which everyone keeps linking to) and it stubbornly refuses to run. Tried a bunch of settings, nothing.

Not impressed.
