I've been trying to get to the binoculars mounted on a pedestal way up high on a wall on the B2 level. Apparently you are supposed to get on the fan and move sideways in the air to land on the wall, which is pretty obvious in principle, but in practice I can't get it to work. I've tried holding a key while in the air, I've tried running and jumping on the fan, but every time I just plop back down on the ground. Has anyone succeeded in landing on the wall, and if so, how did you do it?

I did it only 2 days ago. The easiest way I found is to walk backwards into the fan, then as soon as you start flying hold the left key and spam the jump key. You land on the column and jump sideways soon as you touch it. Jumping isn't strictly necessary, I managed without it, but I found jumping makes it easier. Sometimes you overjump and land outside, but hopefully you get it right after a few tries.
