It's a very interesting game so far, haven't played enough to make a final judgement on it, but it runs terribly! I'm running an Ryzen 7 1800X and a Fury X, and I had to turn the settings down, it's a pretty game, but it's not exactly Battlefield 1 in graphics, so yeah I'm just wondering if there's any optimization updates planned?
Yes, according to this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/457760/discussions/0/135513901709356531/
*sigh*

First bugfix patch is out on Steam, I hope it'll hit GoG soonish.

Here are the notes:

- HUD scales to match resolution (excludes floating hints or tags).
- Resolutions list should now include common 21:9 resolutions.
- Toggle HUD command is now available for binding on keyboard controls.
- Fix for Traveller & Stevedore achievements not unlocking correctly.
- Mantabirds can be shot and will die :(
- Menu glitch FX is toggleable in settings.
- Headbob is toggleable in settings.
- Fixed hit-dit audio not respecting volume sliders.
- Switch to exclusive mode for fullscreen.
- Quitting from the respawn screen now saves the game correctly.
- Miscellaneous performance & bugfixes!
I really like GoG and I always prefer GoG over any other digital platform because of the DRM-free policy. But I just don't like the fact that we ALWAYS have to wait longer for patches than the customers of any other digital distributor, especially if someone doesn't use the Galaxy client. But in the end I guess the DRM-free games are worth waiting for patches a few days longer...

Besides: This patch seems not to be a major one. It's mostly minor bugfixes, there are no real additional benefits gameplay-wise.
Yes, according to a developer on Steam forums:

"There's a free expansion with a new campaign coming shortly. We're just wrapping that over the next month or two. I have some ideas for after that, too, but we'll see how it goes."
There's also a vid of the new area....it's snow themed.

As usual: The "Polar Regions" Expansion is available on Steam and not so much on GOG. GOG really needs to work on that!
Looks like the expansion is here now, hooray! \o/
Polar extension is here ? Nice, I'm gonna beat the game for the third time :)

I've just re-installed the game and yes, there is the Polar campaign available.
Yes, it seems the latest GOG installer is v1.0.52_(64bit)_(19760). So finally the game is up to date and includes de Polar campaign.
