Currently playing mission 4 from the Roman Campaign in Settlers 2.
This mission has several islands. My economy is built up on all islands, I have created ports in pretty much every available spot, and I have created a path along the eastern section so that my ports there are connected to my main land.

I played around a bit with the army distribution (changed soldiers for close to enemy to minimum and then changed it back to default settings) to get some military structures occupied sooner. However, now I have a large section of soldiers who just walk up and down through my entire country. They have been doing it for the last hour at least.

Any ideas on how I can solve this? I prefer to have them in my military buildings.
I tried stop stockpiling soldiers on all my storehouses/ports but my HQ and changing military occupation of structures to max for internal, medium and close to enemy buildings.

Not much luck so far...

yeah the harbor/ship system can be a pain in the ass sometimes especially when you have many of both.

you could try denying access to warehouses and hq from your soldiers so that they can enter only in harbors in every island and mainland and see if it helps, it is possible you'll have to block access from harbors to military structures by cutting some roads but i'd try the harbor thing first.

as far as i know the problem exists because after you played with the distribution settings soldier A was trying to from mainland to island B and to guardhouse C but something was blocking the way or they hadn't reached the designated building yet when you rolled back to defaults at which point they are still trying to reach their target but for example ships don't register the need to transport them anymore so they try to find an alternate route which ends up in your whole army walking around on an endless loop, or something like that...

Thanks. I now just try and have only 1 harbor per island. This seems to help, although the distribution lines get a bit longer :P.
Now I just gotta figure out why I can't create an armorer in mission 7. I got 2x tongs. Maybe he needs a hammer aswell? Wasn't able to find any info on this.

armorer needs only hammer, tongs are for metalworkers

Thanks. I either misread somewhere online or it was listed incorrectly.
That should help ;)
