So I went in and selected campaign right off. I was prompted for a serial key. So I exit out, and go to the game in GoG, and see the key. Now when I play the game, it's working fine, but I never entered this key. So what's going on here?

Well the key is used for multiplayer so you'll be fine. If you want to play multiplayer, start settlers 3 using the multiplayer shortcut in the start menu. You should be prompted for a key then.

so I was so annoyed with this settlers 3 ultimate asking for the serial number upon install non-drm and I restarted, it didn't work.
BUT I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it and WHAT DO YOU KNOW, the serial number request just disappeared.
