Just bought settlers 3,4. Both have the same problem, the tutorials seem to work fin until I have to click the find resources button. It does not click. Windows 8.1

Installed on older laptop first, had the problem, then uninstalled thinking it might be the integrated video. Installed on Nvidia i5 desktop, had the same issue.

I don't think there is a "find resources" button for 3 & 4. Just get control of a geologist and click on a rock/mountain, he will do the rest.

With Settlers 4 there is not - when having selected only geologist and hovering mouse over mountains pointer just switches to whatever geologist tool it is and u just click anywhere to make them find resources. With Settlers 3 there's of course Find Resources - but it's not a "button" but rather plain text on unit screen. There's no visible "button area". In that way you have to move units close to mountains and click it. You can also select geologists, point mountains and (iirc) hold ALT+ click RMB. Should do the trick. There are many of such combinations (for e.g. patrol mode between 2 points or selecting route - not a straight one, but as wicked as u want).

I mis-understood the interface, when I click on the geologist, there are a bunch of buttons to the left which I assumed was options. Maybe it is settler type. They were all greyed out but one which would not click.

I will have to find a list of the keyboard shortcuts, the manual did not seem to show them.

Thanks for the tip. Most of Canada lives on the border. The rest is too damn cold!
