Catacomber: I see you would have to purchase The Quest on Steam to see the expansions available. Maybe a partial solution to that problem would be for Redshift to lower the price for a little while to give GOG users a chance.
honx: that's where "gog connect" would come in play: if redshift would take part in gog connect, then i would be able to buy the game on steam, and get the same game here on gog for free, as it was bought on steam already and my profiles on gog on steam are linked together. so there would no be buying twice AND as a bonus i could use your expansions here on gog, because i initially bought that game on steam which enables me to use steam workshop items.
so for now i'll have to wait until gog connect is available before spending any money. because i don't want to buy a game, knowing that i'm cut off all third party content. and i will NOT buy anything on steam alone, i prefer gog.
currently it's too late anyway, because the sale for quest is over anyway and i'll have to wait for next sale. i won't buy for full price for deluxe edition anymore, because i already spent ~40€ for old versions of quest and legacy with their addons, back in 2010... and i actually never played them, because ultra small resolution and fixed small window size of these old versions make said versions of the quest and legacy unplayable on 1920x1080 resolution...
btw, since october, since that ugly unusable cluttered ram-eating ads-infested fisherprice
BLOATWARE "ui" for mobile phone kiddies valve bastards forced on us, i'm boycotting steam anyway. there must be a very good reason to give these bastards from valve any money again.
for example getting steam-exclusive third-party expansions for my gog version of the quest. If Redshift doesn't use GOG Connect, I don't see how I can put our expansions up there.
It would be so hard for me to sell our expansions for GOG because of all the currencies, taxes, vats and other things involved.
People all over the world have enjoyed them and it makes me very sad that all I can do is have them on Steam. I humanly cannot handle the sales as one person without a store that can handle it. Steam does that very well, as does Apple and the Google Play Store..
I know you have issues with Steam. I'm sorry I can't do more.
honx. I have a thought. Can you register at my website, catacomber.com and message me there? I could put the expansion for Mithril Horde I there available for downloading by messaging me maybe since Mithril Horde I will be available on Steam for free.
Or something like that. As long as I don't have to keep track of currencies and taxes and all that other stuff.
