Hi,

I just purchased the game and the addon (I already own it on Steam). In the Steam version there is an option in the main menu called "additional worlds" where I see the installed addons. Why isn't this option in the GOG-version?

I also wanted to ask if the other dlcs will also arrive here on GOG? Or is there a way to use them from the Steam version in the GOG version?

Thanks!

I would like to know if there are plans to bring more DLC here. I don't expect it all right away, a simple reply of what the plans are is good enough for me to buy it again here to show my support.

Cross saves to any other version, like android so you could play on the go and continue same character back home on PC would also be awesome!

Thank you for your purchase!

The Steam version uses the Steam Workshop which doesn't have a counterpart on GOG.

However, third party expansions work with the GOG release, see this,

Unless GOG implements a similar system to the Steam Workshop, I don't think third party expansions will be available on GOG.

As said in my reply to the previous post, it's unlikely third party expansions will be directly available on GOG.

But as said, the GOG version can use any third party PC expansion.

Cross saves work with any version (Android, iOS, Steam, GOG, Mac or PC). Just copy the save files into the save folder! :) (Please also see this).

Thank you for your reply @RedshiftGames!

So I just put all my .paks into the "expansions"-folder inside the game folder? My game is not installed in "documents" though (instead its d:\TheQuest). As it says the game looks for the expansions in "documents" do I have to create a folder in "documents" and put the .paks in there?

Again to my first question: Where can I see if the addons are activated? In Steam I can see it from the main menu.

Thanks again!

No, create the folder "The Quest" in the "Documents" folder (the Windows or macOS one). Then create a folder called "expansions" inside "The Quest" folder. Then put your expansions inside that.

There is no indication whether the expansions are seen or not, until you go to the respective Sea Captain and try to travel there. That shouldn't take long though if you are ready for a particular expansion. :)
Thank you for your help!
Just what I was wondring too.

I have them all on Android but, being a GOG customer, I never picked it up on PC.

Now I have it, and the bif one is in there, but I was looking to see how I would go about getting the rest of the stuff here that I've still not managed to work all of the way through on my phone.

I don't plan on making our expansions available on GOG as there is no workshop. The workshop on Steam works very well for me. I upload the expansions and when I do an update, it gets uploaded and everyone can access it right away.

That is a very efficient system. I'm just one person. To manage all our files and sales and updates in the cloud outside a company's workshop is too burdensome for me.

To reiterate what Elendil said:

The GOG version of the game can accept any PC expansion. The game will look for the following folder: "Documents/The Quest/expansions" (on both Windows and Mac). Any expansion paks put there will be picked up and will be playable.

You can buy the Steam versions and put them there (Steam Workshop expansions are called "world.pak" but can be renamed to whatever is convenient).

Please don't contact us at Zarista Games website. It's old and no longer maintained as my partner Dr. Vlad has a family and many responsibilities.

You can contact me or get help for our expansions at https:\\www.catacomber.com.
