Nephilim88: And then people criticise the Epic game store, when consoles have been doing this crap since the dawn of time... :/
Umm... Epic has gone a step further by making games their own storefront exclusively.
At least I can a bit understand that games are restricted to a platform. But even platform-bonded games get a port. Keep in mind that making a port from one platform to another sometimes take a LOT of work. Epic does not have to port anything, but simply locks the game into their store, sometimes for more than a year. That's a whole other can of worms.
At least games that where running on another platform (like the PS3/4) get a port. That involves a lot of work and has a certain risk for the developers involved. And often the final version includes all DLC's and extra stuff (example: Horizon Zero Dawn). In short - Yes the users of another platform have to wait, but it's not that the games would run on a PC anyway..
Epic does not have to port anything, has no risks involved, but simply keeps the games behind lock and key. That's an whole different thing. They have a working version that runs on the PC platform, but they simply snatch it away for themselves, and refuse other storefronts that working game. Personally I think they deserve all the criticism they get for that behavior.
