The most accurate estimation is that Book 3 will be released at the latest some time before the (legally enforced in Norway) summer vacations of the dev team, which traditionally takes place at the end of July. Thus I would expect a late June, early July release, but hopefully RTG can surprise us and get it out even sooner than that.

"Those of you asking when Book Three is coming: it'll be a while yet. It won't take four months, but we're not ready to announce anything at this point. When we're a few weeks away from launch, we'll post an update about the release date!"

I think they should call book three - Revenge. At the end of book two the Azadi slaughtered certain prisoners...

Just noticed the coincidence - Reborn, Rebels, Revenge.

First off, why would you spoil the end of Book Two A) at all, or B) without a SPOILER warning?

Secondly, why would you attach nude drawings to your post A) at all, or B) without a NSFW warning?

You're getting your knickers in a twist again! Don't you think most have well finished that game by now?

Furthermore, if you are so fussy about a couple of harmless little drawings, then you should NOT be playing dreamfall in the first place, the dramatic scenes and bad language should be far too much for somebody like you - a fairy!

I seem to have missed all the fun in this thread. ;)

But listen to urzagc, he certainly knows his stuff around the RTG forums...

First off, don't base any kind of assumptions on the first four-months-and-three-weeks stretch between the episodes. As Telltale's episodic games have often demonstrated, the second episode of a series is usually the most vicious hump to get over. Further episodes WILL arrive faster. I'm not entirely hopeful that they will conclude the game before the year ends, but they are definitely still aiming to do that undeterred by the time that passed between Books 1 and 2.

For now, optimists assume Book 3 to arrive in May, realists in June and pessimists in July. ;)
Early on I said, "Just noticed the coincidence - Reborn, Rebels" (two titles beginning with "R"). And maybe the next title book will begin with the letter "R" also; I said they should call the next book "Revenge." However, as we all know, the latest book is called "Realms", but it still has an "R" in the title! Spooky as Crow would say.

And seeing as how it is now June 23, 2015, this pessimist wonders if the next chapter will even be ready by August, and I feel it is highly likely we will still be trying to play this game well into 2016. I bought into this back in Oct 2014, and nearly 9 months later I'm beginning to wonder if I'll be able to finish it before I die of old age. I just hope I remember never to buy another game that isn't released as a complete unit.

That's not pessimist, that's uninformed. ;)

The next Book will be ready tomorrow.

Enjoy! ;)

Can you tell me exactly what time tomorrow? lol

Nope. ;)

The schedule will be CET though, as RTG's in Norway ... could be quite early in the day for our Canadian and US friends!

Book three is very late in the day here, what has happened?

Ragnar Tørnquist has to be careful that he does not create more questions than answers before he wraps up some of the un-answered lose ends in the previous books first, or we will need a book six and possibly a book seven to complete the story.

Absolutely. This is essentially the Telltale problem in a nutshell - often enough, they found out by the fifth episode that they could never wrap up a story as complex in just one episode. Telltale's decision however was episode dismemberment. Crucial, brutal cuts that drove e.g. Tales of Monkey Island deep into really bad ending territory. :(

And there's MUCH to resolve in Chapters. We haven't even met all the villains from the predecessor!

However, Ragnar has started delivering answers with Book 3. For me personally, I think the April question has been answered already, as was the Zoë/coma conundrum (the latter will probably be made far more explicit... the first possibly not). The evil plans cross worlds are known, it's just that we need more detail. The protagonists now have their individual plans and goals.

There will probably still be question marks swooshing around our heads by Book 5, but the crucial questions, I hope, will be answered satisfactorily or at least implicitly.

The story is so good; it will feel a shame to bring it to a close. I have a feeling Ragnar Tørnquist will leave in loose ends on purpose, even at the finish of Book 5, in order to keep the story flowing for possible further Books.
