Hinterland has released a new build of The Long Dark. It includes interesting features like new challenge (Hunted part 2) and new difficulty level (Interloper). Is there an estimate when it becomes available on GOG.com?

Anyone have news about this?

Probably this upcoming week or the next.
GoG releases tends to be a bit slower then steams releases.

But gog also tends to get more stable releases then steam.
So just wait and we will get the new update soon.

Might be off topic, but I dont really think steam has a testing group at all.
Some games dont even work, they get removed when they get to mutch hate.
A small testing group might be true for xbox tho, I dont know. I only play on PC, so I got no clue.
But Gog test there games heavily before it gets released on there platform, I imagen its the same for xbox.


Ye I think this got to be the best game Iv ever gotten on EA.
And the plans for this game gets me very very excited.
I wonder if the open water could be an indication to seasons like spring and sutch in a future update.
Its planned, but maybe its closer then we think.

Hinterland's already hotfixed it to v.365, so I guess there were some issues.

Zelux, they do have a large testing group. You can read everything about it on the Hinterland forums. Everyone can become a tester as long as you have the Steam version. They don't do public testing with the GOG and Xbox version afaik.

Aaah I see, I thout u ment. Steam as in Valve have a bigger testing group, to test games before they get released on steam. And I said, I dont think steam has a testing group at all, and I ment steam staff/devs.
But if anyone can become a tester for TLD, It makes sence steam has a bigger test group.
Its a bigger platform over all, more user exetra.

But the GoG staff test games heavly before it gets out on GoG, if the game is broken in anyway and dont pass the test it will not be released here, bugs apper in every game, and more often in EA games.
It also dont really make sence for TLD to release a test brash on both gog and steam, if the bigger user group is on steam anyway. And if GoG needs to test every update it make take a day or two, and the steam version might already gotten 3 new hot fixes. We will offcourse get Vigilant Trespass once it ready.

Ah I guess we weren't talking about the same thing. Turns out it was haha. Yes Steam as in Valve doesn't has any test group as far as I know.

And it does indeed make sense. I love it that GOG does quality testing to ensure everything is working. It's a very good system.
And for Hinterland it's probably better to wait for all hotfixes before pushing it to GOG. I think GOG appreciates that too.
It's definitely worth the wait. :)

One thing: the link I posted is still working but I discovered that Hinterland closed the separate section of the testing branch. Probably because the last build is made public now. That makes sense too.
