HawkDawg: Sadly, it seems to me that those inclined towards political correctness tend to be unforgiving.

Kakarot96: But, for instance, VG27 is covering GOG news again since then so apparently they accepted the apologies. There's no turning back for Hinterland, though, it seems. Sadly :(
Yes, that is sad, and makes no business sense at that. They spend time and money keeping the GOG version updated (thank goodness for that) but refuse to make money from sales at GOG.
In my humble opinion, that's taking PC just a wee bit too far.

I suspect that notion will slap Raphael upside the head one day and us GOG buyers will no longer get updates.
I had planned to enjoy episode 3 this weekend.... The wait is somewhat infuriating.

What do you reckon would be a (good) and similar game to "The Long Dark"?

Anyway, enjoy the weekend folks!

there is a game called Northern Lights that is supposed to be released this winter. It looks very good and has more things than The Long Dark. I can't wait to play it

slackline: Hinterland announces date of Oct 22 for third part of story mode and Dec for an update to sandbox. Hope it was worth waiting for.
I'm excited about the story mode update, but I really bought the game just for the love of the sandbox now survival mode. So it doesn't really feel like I'm waiting much at all.

Me too! It's just that I've re-played the story mode since they changed it so I'm just rolling with it basically.

I certainly hope the planned sandbox update will be released more or less on time.

This is the answer I received from the devs at northern lights about if they planned on a gog release also:

Hello! We plan to submit our game to GOG but we can't answer with a yes or no because at that point it will be up to GOG if they approve our game or not. From what I know they want the final version of the game (we will release in Early access so this might be a minus).

This is so annoying. I should have stuck with steam. Last time I use gog to buy a game.
don't be confused. slackline is talking about a game called "northern lights". he is not talking about the long dark. just to clear things up.

You must be a Galaxy user. It's not yet available for us that don't use Galaxy.

There's always a one or two day gap between releases for Galaxy users and non-Galaxy users. That was even confirmed by a GOG tech guy.

Yeah, i use GOG Galaxy. I didn't know about the gap. Well, at least you know now, it's coming soon for everyone ;)

Thursday will be the typical 9 day time frame between the Steam release and the GOG release.
I think I remember the tech guy saying Galaxy users generally get it a day or two sooner than non Galaxy users.
Does anybody know what this means?

Originally it was not possible to start directly from episode 2 without first playing episode 1 through. This missing message should only appear if it were still only possible to play episode 3 after completing episodes 1 and 2 first. However, that limitation was lifted and this situation should not happen.
