Just noticed this announcement on the official forums. A new update will come next Monday for survival mode.
Sounds like quite a big update! :D

Next Monday for Steam users. Us GoG users will have to wait about a week or so. :-(
Well color me impressed. 3 days after the Steam release of 1.48, it's available on GOG. That's the fastest they've ever released a TLD update.
Course the 1.48 update is allegedly a bit borked (but I think that's mainly for Steam users) so we have to wait for the 1.48.1 and the 1.49, but hopefully that will be in the next couple of days. Maybe tomorrow for the 1.48.1 and Monday for the 1.49?

Edit 1: It looks like the update here at GOG is the 1.48.1 version, so now we wait for the 1.49 Hotfix.

Looking at the Hinterland forum, there seems to be a problem with aiming weapons since the update. Think I'll defo wait until word that it has been fixed

Yes, it looks like there were some issues with the sprain system which required a couple emergency patches to 1.48.1 and then 1.49.

Wow that's indeed one of the fastest releases here, impressive Hinterland! :D
Anyone else test an already started game to see if the new items will spawn in? Hinterland generally replied "• new items will be added to loot tables of in-progress games. Just remember that loot tables do vary depending on the difficulty you are playing at." So I'm wondering if you've already emptied a cabinet or box etc if the item will spawn in those or not. I'm updating now and will play a save that is well into its days to see, will post results. Fingers and toes crossed it will spawn into emptied containers, but I have my doubts.

EDIT: So I've done some exploring and it seems if a container has been emptied it shall remain that way, though I have found boxes and single bullets for the revolver laying around in the PV Farm and CH Quonset Garage, both of which had been completely emptied. Didn't find any of the energy drinks.

So looks like you'd have to restart a new to get the full benefit.

I'll be happy when the game is done and I no longer have to do this.

Version 1.50 is now live on GOG!
Version 1.55 is available now here too.
What's the 1.56 hotfix for? I didn't notice anything broken...

Only Linux and Mac OS versions were updated, Windows still at 1.55:
Patch 1.56 Hotfix (19 July 2019)

- [CHALLENGE MODE] Fixed issue preventing players from being able to damage the Old Bear in The Hunted, Part Two.
Linux and Mac OS installers updated, Windows installer still at 1.55.

EDIT: rectified current situation of standalone installers.

HypersomniacLive:
Over at the Hinterland forums, it doesn't say anything about this Hotfix being only for Linux and Mac.

It also doesn't say that at the Steam announcement.

Where did you get that info?

In that case, it was an assumption on my part seeing that only the Linux and Mac OS standalone installers were updated to 1.56.

I've edited my previous post to reflect the actual situation.

Well, that would be a fair assumption. :-) I thought you might have read that somewhere that I didn't see.
I'm guessing you're talking about the patch release here at GOG. From past experience, GOG doesn't release TLD patches for PC for at least 9 days after Steam (with the exception of the 1.48 patch). I have no experience with the Linux and MAC releases though.

In general, Linux and Mac standalone installers getting updated before the Windows ones is an extremely rare occurrence.

That said, Windows installers got also updated yesterday, beating the 9 days time frame of your experience by a whole day. ;-)
