OS X and Linux are supported on Steam, so ... that's strange, right? I'd like to be understanding about it, but I can't think of any good reason why this should be the case. It's just .. odd.

Thought it must be a typo on GOG at first, but remembered this isn't the first time I've seen this happen.

Cool! I played a bit this morning using wine, and it worked perfectly.

I'm looking forward to exploring more in the Linux native version!

I bought this on GOG then saw that on Steam it has the Mac version immediately available. I am torn between refunding on GOG and getting it on Steam. Though I really want to support GOG.

Are we talking a few days away for Mac or is it much longer?

I've seen that the Mac and Linux links are already on the site (but not working for me, probably because I have the Windows client of Galaxy).
So I think it's best to wait a bit for those who want it. It's totally worth it, that's for sure. :)

Could you please be more specific about soon? Or is it the "iRacing soon" (tm)

I want to buy this game on gog and not on steam!

I think they're going to release those platforms very soon (update v.327). At least that's what I understood when I asked Hinterland when the recent update would arrive on GOG. They said they needed to update every platform individual so it would take some time before GOG gets the new update.

But this is completely my interpretation of what they mean with releasing it on GOG on multiple platforms.

Unless there's an announcement forthcoming, it looks like they've quietly added the Mac and Linux versions of The Long Dark with very little fanfare. I've seen notifications appear in my library of the changes, but no forum or news post about it.

There's a bit of a lag on the store page too. It lists the Mac version, which was added a couple of days ago, but does not yet mention the Linux version. There is now a link to all three installers in my library though if anyone was hanging out their release.

Both Linux and Mac versions are up now and the gamecards were updated. Enjoy! Good job Hinterland Studio! :)
