dgnfly: Kinda curious if this is sticking to the facts of the era or is some "woke" Assasin's Creed Odyssey?
Kinda tired of History being falsely revised because of inclusion and woke politics.
Thanks for your question. We understand your concern, but don't worry, this game isn't like that.
In terms of historical authenticity, we engaged two historical consultants: Dr. Philip Matyszak, who has a D.Phil from Oxford and teaches at Cambridge, and has written 17 books on the ancient world. And Dr. Sophie Hay, who has spent 20 years excavating the ruins of Pompeii. Dr Matyszak helped us to create a game world with historically authentic art, architecture, costumes and customs. And Dr Hay helped out with a comprehensive review, ensuring our architecture and art was consistent with her observations of Pompeii, which was preserved in a very similar time period.
The game does have a diverse cast of characters, which is in keeping with the fact that the Roman empire in the first century AD did indeed have a diverse population of people from (as they are now known) Britain, Germany, Africa, Greece, and the middle-east.
Hope that helps!
