Update to version 1.3 (with some bugfixes and additional languages - haven't checked it yet, so I can't really tell what's changed) came out today.

IMPORTANT: The update will makes saves from version 1.2 non-functional, so if you don't have any problems with the game, don't update mid-play or you'll have to start from the beginning \ re-install the game to make old saves work again.

Hm... I'm afraid of trying the german translation out. Nice to see it being translated, though.
But the english original is not hard to understand. And fine as it is.

Yes, i'm talking about grammar issues and the like.

The translation was done by native speakers, so I guess it shouldn't be bad...
But what's most important, people with screen tearing problems shoudl be happy about this update :)
Nice. Although I think that I'll wait that it will come to GOG, because sometimes patches don't work properly with the same game which is bought from another place and I'm not certain if patch made to Screen 7 version will work with GOG version.

Not sure what the GOG file structure is when intstalled via GOG. But in theory it should work, and of course, just a matter of re-installing (using the original installer) if there's an issue. Saved games won't be removed in that process (though you won't be able to use old save games with the new version). That was, unfortunately, an unavoidable part of the process to allow the new version to work with translations.

I'll see how it works with GOG version and report back :)
EDIT. GOG version updated just fine :) Liked that old font better, but I guess it's just a matter of taste.

You may want to submit the update or updated installer to GOG (if you haven't already), so they can put it on the site, just for the convenience of GOG users who don't follow the game as closely as I :) And GOG guys will fix any possible compatibility issues.

Thanks for the info!

It was that font, agreed - more themed and nicer looking - that caused all the problems really, and is the reason we ended up going with extra stuff in 1.3, like vsync and ui updates. The original font couldn't handle é 's and á 's so it was not compatible with translations. By using a new font AGS had to create a new build, render the saves useless, etc. If the original font had the ability to do foreign characters no problem, process would've been a lot quicker, the download a lot smaller ..but sadly this wasn't the case. I'm sure some people will hold that original font absolutely key to part of the experience ;) but once that's overlooked it's still the same great game I hope..!

PHEW! Glad I read this before I ran the update. I would've been sooooo mad.

Yeah, updated OP. That's kind of important :)
"French, German, and Spanish subtitles"

Always nice to see additional language support! :D

I´m a bit surprised that the update is still not included in a new installer...
And the gamecard still states that the game is english-only, although those translations are pretty well-done!
Could cost you some sales...

Don't worry, they will be in due time :)
We've recommended GOG do not issue update to 1.3 yet. I've just finished up on new version 1.4 which is better, translation errors are fixed AND the original font is included when played in English. Version 1.4's update will be available mid-January, and we'll give GOG the brand new installer for v1.4 and then its up to them basically! :)

Our updates page will include an update for those who want to go from 1.2 > 1.4 or from 1.3 > 1.4. Although v1.3 is fine, some people like the original font and the French translation has game crashing errors in it - so please wait another couple weeks for 1.4 :)
