Had you read the context of that quote, you would have seen it referred to the poor quality of sleep I was getting when my neighbor kept me up until 2 AM relative to how the situation seemed to escalate the week before studying for exams. To give another example of this usage of the word "bad", it's bad enough that you angered me by deliberately misquoted me, but you had to go that extra step and bring alignment into the discussion, which tells me that you followed me from the BG thread I posted in, namely the one that ended in me saying that discussing that game and alignment in particular had ceased to be productive and only served as a source of aggravation. You should know this because I posted my rationale for abandoning that thread; the fact that you have followed me here and brought up the discussion again tells me that you didn't think carefully before posting or that you are some kind of troll. If it's the former, then I apologize for any unintended vitriol, but if it's the latter, then this is the last time we speak.

In that case, my sincerest apologies. I had been engaged in giving alignment a thrashing in the BG thread on its high rating and the exchange was beginning to get more heated than I thought appropriate, so I left. Given the unusually high levels of defensiveness I ran into there, I was inclined to think that your response was an attempt to troll after I posted that I was abandoning the discussion; glad to hear it isn't the case.

Funny, I always pick Chaotic Neutral... And, knowing it's morally bad, it's tasteless and it's acting before thinking, I never felt bad about what Susan (with my help) did to Bryan and - if the 'cat killer' part was true, I strongly believe he deserved this and more.

I personally don't think that chaotic neutral's morally is bad, because you don't intend to directly harm people. You just do what you think is good, and I like that.
And yeah, Bryan was an ass and had it coming, so I loved that revenge.

I was talking about harassing Bryan was morally bad : ) When I think about it, I guess:
- Lawful Good and Neutral Good - lecture Bryan about everybody's right to live.
- Chaotic Good - help Bryan find some meaning in his life and stop being an ass.
- Lawful Neutral - search Bryan's apartament for any proof of his wrongdoings and report him,
- Neutral and Chaotic Neutral - do what Susan did (neutral to keep the balance, chaotic neutral for the hell of it),
- Lawful Evil - plant some evidence against Bryan in his flat and report him,
- Neutral Evil - look at what Bryan's doing to the cats with some degree of joy,
- Chaotic Evil - befriend Bryan, gain his trust and then hurt him for the hell of it.

Heh, funny, I'm inclined into chaotic good, and for me, what Susan did fits perfectly (following own moral compass, no care about laws or "social rules", in pursuit of objectively good result).

And, yes, I think that that it was rather about "that guy got on my nerves pretty *bad*, + Bryan calling pest control. We *know* he did it - it was mentioned in conversation with dog lady, and if we choose option with Bryan trying to call police during "story", there is a teacup photo on his desktop - with mention, that it is the same cat Bryan watched through window, when "strange pest control man" caught it (presumably, via *banned* cat-grabbers - Bryan haven't cared much, it seems).

The pest control man said that Bryan had described Susan to him - well enough that he recognized her in the fog. I figured that even if Bryan wasn't complicit in the kidnapping, he knew that something bad was going to happen to her so he kind of deserves what he gets.

Or he described her to let the pest control guy know he was in the right place once he saw her. Seriously, you guys are going out of your way to try make this guy into a monster, when all we know about him is that he shouted at Susan; his behavior was inappropriate, but it's not like he was being entirely unreasonable.

I think there are a lot of people out there who feel justified in hurting others when they've been slighted. I disagree with such attitudes and tend to look down on them. You didn't hold the elevator for me? I'm going to slash your tires. You played loud music one minute after 10 PM? The ONLY reason you would do that is to piss me off, so I'm going to squirt feces under your door for the next four months. It's small, it's petty, and it's extremely self-centered. I have little respect for such people.

With that said, I thought the situation with Bryan was perfectly clear. He called a guy he knew to get rid of Susan. Not the cats... Susan. IOW, he tried to have her killed. For me, I didn't understand why Susan reacted so oddly. Bryan tries to kill her, so she messes with his bike??? Seriously?

I thought her Cat Widow thing was underwhelming. I can't say she was wrong for doing that to someone who tried to kill her, but that plus the bike struck me as the feeble actions of a small, weak person. She should have killed him and been done with it.

Remember, we meet Susan as someone who thinks death is the easy way out.

True, but at the time of these events she's no longer that person. She's growing, becoming stronger and more confidant, and she's already killed several(?) people. I think she would surely have enough self-esteem at this point to view an attempt on her life as wrong.

Well, yes, she killed people... but they were threatening her life when she did. We can't be sure if Bryan knew that pest control company is runned by a pair of murderers. I assume he didn't know that - he seems to be a patchetic, sad, porn-addicted coward, using all his free time for wanking and playing with his toy trains. Sure, he's a kind of person that probably fantasies about hurting others, but in my opinion he's too much of a coward to ever knowingly come in contact with someone really dangerous, like that pest control man.

I had a completely different take.

1) It's obvious to me he knew they were murderers. If he was only calling about cats, that's all he'd report. However, when we meet the pest guy in the fog, we learn that Bryan told him Susan's name AND described her to him. Who would do that for a pest problem? He was clearly giving the guy all the info he needed to kidnap her.

Plus, if Bryan HADN'T asked him to take her, how could he take people at random and not get caught? If a person goes missing and cops investigate, someone's going to tell them, "hey, I called ABC pest control, maybe they know something." Sooner or later, cops will go to his home, see all the bodies, and his days are over. The only logical conclusion is that Bryan KNEW the guy would eliminate Susan, and called him to do that.

I think Jonesy discussed him in another thread. He strikes me as a guy barely making ends meet with his dead-end job, and he can't afford to lose it. Her playing piano at midnight and constantly waking him up really pisses him off. I've gone through that myself and it made me angry too. Instead of staying in his room and calling the cops, he gets right in her face and yells at her. He says he'll kill the cats himself if he has to, and I believe him. This doesn't sound like a coward to me. Do we learn at some point that some of her cats have already been killed? I can't remember.

I think he's violent and fully capable of killing cats. I see nothing odd about him knowing a guy who ALSO kills animals, and even kills people. When I was young, I complained once about a guy bothering me to my landlord, and he told me he knew a guy who could "take care of him" if I wanted. I politely declined. You may be surprised at what kinds of skills or connections people have.

Well, we can find at least one corpse on his yard (trivia: that's the Dev's photoshoped face). If he works in pest control, he probably hunts people nobody's looking for - homeless or lonely, kind of people nobody will look for too hard. After all, he didn't come after Brian.
Yelling at lonely depressed woman or hurting defenceless animals is exactly the thing a cowardly wanker like Bryan would do. I wonder if he would come and complain to Jesse. I guess not - why? Because Jesse would probably simply show him the finger and closed the door right in front of his face.
I'm not saying Bryan and the pest control guy never meet before (but I think pest control is too disfunctional to have actual relationships other than his wife). But I don't think pest control would talk about his... hobby to everybody he knows. After all he doesn't do it for money, he does it for pleasure.
