At night go to the libary and use the statue on the empty sheet in the archives that the librarian put up for you, it will show the hidning spot in the same room.

How do you get the ammonia? The shopkeeper won't sell it to you without a key that he needs the bird to find for him.

Take the fruits from the tree outside shops and go outside the city then use fruit to catch the bird, which is in the nest on the shed.
