I didn't see a question specifically about GOG being issued or addressed, but there was a question on twitter about another platform (console, Nintendo Switch) and the answer was along the lines of "eventually" or "as soon as we can".

So I am guessing, and giving the benefit of doubt, Steam gets the first release and the inevitable subsequent bug fixes while everything else will get the "finalized" new version after hopefully a few weeks.

Let's hope it's not months like last year.

And really it's unacceptable that GOG is left consistently behind for long periods of time, while being a PC platform, same as Steam. And with no developer feedback whatsoever on any of the questions in this subforum.

(I think EGS is left behind too, but I cannot confirm since I don't have the game there).

I know this topic is quite old by this point and I'm sorry to bump, but this issue is still relevant today (5-24-23) as the GoG build has *still* inexplicably not been updated. Not only that, but it was recently confirmed that Isaac is "content complete" (aka burnout) and it seems like the last remaining dev couldn't wash their hands of the project quickly enough. I don't know or care about the inner workings of this dev studio, all I know is that Isaac is one of the most significant indie games ever created and leaving it in this state reflects extremely poorly on the company and the legacy of the game itself.

If this isn't remedied by June 1, I'm going to uninstall on Steam and avoid the company in the future. No, I'm not trying to sound petulant or melodramatic and I know that my one little informal boycott won't mean anything to the bottom line. I did the same for Gearbox and Activision/Blizzard over a decade ago and I know it made zero impact whatsoever except perhaps on my own peace of mind.

I just think this neglect is extremely disrespectful and choose not to patronize businesses who treat a certain segment of their customer base as second class. I don't care that it's an overworked indie studio with bigger ambition than ability. It doesn't deserve to be excused.
If the game is actually "content complete" (so, as updated as it will ever be) then there's absolutely no excuse to not have it up to date on all platforms, including GOG and consoles, already

I understand some delay when they are actively working on the game, but if that isn't the case anymore then... get to it? like right now lol? the neglect isn't excusable anymore

I agree 100% and have recently written to both GoG and Nicalis to express the community's concerns in as concise and respectful a manner as I could manage, despite my great vexation at the situation. Unfortunately, I'm still drawn to the allure of DRM free Isaac and caved, officially making me a sellout. I just purchased today against all of my instincts because I'm not going to have much time for games going forward and so the few that I do play, I'd like to have complete access to.

I will keep trying to draw attention to this issue and will make a significant nuisance of myself if need be until it's rectified. I *want* to support Nicalis and I absolutely adore GoG, but this really is unacceptable. Of course, I didn't exactly stick to my guns this time so I guess I don't really have a leg to stand on anymore.
I did my part and opened a ticket to support, GOG is being waaay too lenient and passive with these issues

This situation is still absurd.
I paid money for an outdated game where it looks like developers are throwing shit at their customers with SHAMEFUL silence from GOG that I never would have imagined it.

I'm really sad about this and i will never buy a game from this developers.

Yeah I'm with you. It's been the better part of a year that this build has been out of date, and neither Nicalis nor GoG ever attempted to respond to me unfortunately. I love Binding of Isaac and always will, and I am grateful for its place in my library and the many hours of entertainment it brings me, but I will never buy another game from Nicalis for as long as I live.

I will enjoy my outdated Isaac for what it is and even if they do get around to updating it in the future, I will remember this disappearing act and it makes it very hard to give them the benefit of the doubt. I don't like doing business with companies I don't trust, big or small.
