Hello fellow Skara Brae's minions !
I really have a blast with this game ,hope we ll have a Dragon Wars remake and Wasteland too !!!
Wanted to ask as my spellcasters characters reached their 7th spell level for the first time ,if it is good to change their classes to another one . I have one Conjurer and one Magician ,the only options I have for them right now are Conjurer , Magician and Sorcerer , the Wizard class is not available ( I wanted to know why? not enough level ? I am 13 lvl already ).
For my Magician is good to be Sorcerer ( complete new class ) or Conjurer ( I have already one reached 7 level spells ) for exapmple?
Thank you very much

Yes, now is the time when you should definitely change classes.

To become a Wizard, your character needs gain two other classes first (at least level 5 per class).

Personally I like to go to Sorcerer next, then Wizard, then back to Conj/Maj at the end (because Conj/Maj advance faster past level 13, at least on the C64 version which is the one I play). EDIT: I think they changed this in the remaster, all the classes advance past level 13 at the same rate. So look at the spell lists and see which ones you want on both of your casters the soonest and pick those classes. Eg, you may choose one character to go
C/M -> S -> W -> C/M
and the other to go:
C/M -> C/M -> S/W -> S/W

Thank you very very much !! I was a bit confused with this ( to do it or not and which class ) .. As I understand is a bit of waste to keep the same class as you reach level 7 spells .. My spellcasters are at the 13th level and I already reached catacombs level 2 ..

To my understanding, they did change this in the remaster. They also changed this in the Apple 2gs version as well.

In these versions, I would recommend choosing Wizard as the final class for each character unless you *really* want to be able to use that Staff of Lor (casts Restoration when used, but that spell is cheap and there's other competition for inventory space and the weapon staff). Also, in the BT2 remaster, you are going to want your casters to be Archmages in the long run due to the changes made to Dreamspell aquisition (it's now apparently an Archmage spell that requires a new sidequest, unlike in older versions where you just needed level 7 Sorcerer spells).

Finally I made my magician to sorcerer and my conjurer to magician as i wanted the more offensive magician spells to be in the list of both.Realised after a small venture to catacombs 2 that magician leveled up faster than sorcerer ,reached level 5 in one "session" in the dungeon while sorcerer gained a level or two ..

I wanted to ask though,you can be Archmage in BT2 only if you have ended as Wizard ? ( I am playing the remastered version of the games )
Thank you

No, you just need level 3 spells in all classes, it doesn't matter what order you do it in.

However, as dtgreene said above, given the fact that XP progression above level 13 is the same for all classes you're probably better off ending as Wizard.
