At least in the classic versions, you have to enter just the first word, then press Enter.

Then, you'll get another prompt; enter the second word, then press Enter.

Repeat until you've finished answering.

The stairs are not in the same spot that has the magic mouth; they're somewhere else on the level.

Also note that, unless the remaster changed something, the stairs will disappear if you change floors, and you will have to say all the words again.

ive tried all different ways and still cannot get to leveel 4 there are no stairs, i played the orignal game stairs should appear in adjasent square.

on the origanal game you could not teleport to the mouth area, you had to work your way around after picking up the seven secret words???

The square with the stairs is not adjacent to the magic mouth.

In the versions that I've played (DOS and 2gs), you actually could teleport into any spon on level 3 (including the square with the mouth), provided you start from a different floor. However, teleporting within level 3 is not allowed, so you can't teleport from the mouth to the stairs (if you try to work around it by teleporting to level 2 first, the stairs won't be there).

Maybe you might want to check a map online to refresh your memory?
has anyone got to mangars tower 4th level????

Yes, just replayed and confirmed, teleport does work within level 3 on Ver 2.01

SPOILER(ish): Sorry, don't know how to hide the following

Stairs show up several blocks West and North

I just confirmed myself, after answering the riddle the stairs do in fact show up in their usual slot.

I can post the precise location if anybody wants a spoiler. Or just go to the Bard's Tale Online site, its map is accurate on this matter, as well as all other matters I've checked.
