Hi,

as far as I remember from back in the 80's (it's all a bit blurry, really) having a 7th party member reduces the XP your chars get, because it's basically a pool for the fight, divided by the number of party members still alive. Right?

Anyone know if this is true in the Remaster as well?
Also, is there a difference between:
a) an actual character
b) a hired wandering monster
c) a summon (maybe broken into "monster" and "others", like the dancing sword)
as the 7th member in terms of XP?

I'd kinda expect "objects" like the sword spell to NOT get a share of XP, but I'm really not sure.

Summons steal XP it apperas.
Didnt test wandering monster.

So in short; you get much more power having 7 chars than 6, but they level slower.

Right now monsters reduce your XP share, but it's getting fixed in the next patch.
Ah, thanks for the answers, both of you. Much appreciated (and good news about the patch)

Does "monsters" include summoned ones, or just wandering ones that you've allowed to join your party?

I would expect it to include summoned ones, since they're treated the same way.

I would also expect it to include illusions, which are treated as monsters except that they can't go hostile and can be disbelieved.

(Incidentally, in BT3 there are some enemies that are illusions despite not being summoned; they are treated just like other illusions, and remain illusions if they join your party (until you cast DIVA, of course).)
I used to Baylor’s spell bind to grab the soul sucker on dos and c64. He’ll, I even had Mangar one time. Anyone screw around with this wizard spell on this version?
