artigkar: So I have laptop with a a win7 64 bit and a Intel GMA HD (which is I assume is similar to your Intel HD) and got the same problem as you, music and sound is there, but video is frozen. I managed to get to "fix" the problem by applying the workaround to get videos working in The Longest Journey: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_longest_journey_dreamfall/an_fmv_graphics_question_once_again

The workaround I am talking about is the one posted by user Gmr_Leon:

"(Note, this is a solution in reference to Intel integrated graphics cards, so it may not apply to other setups. However, it may be worth trying nonetheless, especially if you've tried just about everything else.)
1. Right click on Desktop
2. Select Screen Resolution
3. Click Detect (with no additional monitor connected)
4. Next to your first display, you'll see a grey square with the text "Another display not detected" Click on the grey square
5. Next to "Multiple displays" it will say "No display detected"
6. Click on "No display detected"
7. A drop-down menu will appear
8. Select "Try to connect anyway on: VGA"
9. Click on your primary display (the square with the big "1" in it)
10. Next to "Multiple displays" select "Extend these displays"

This workaround might seem really strange, but I can assure you it worked for me. Managed to get as far as getting the case from Sylvia in Tex's office before I saved, quit and went to bed last night.

I am having a problem with Overseer and Outcast. These games load up, but when they do, I only see the upper left quarter of the screen, filling my entire monitor. I can't seem to force these games to load into a full screen or even a windowed mode. Please help!

"Windows" isn't your problem in this case--your problem is the Windows *software driver* for the graphics device you are using with Overseer. Since you have a Mac, those drivers are supplied usually by Apple--rolled into their Bootcamp setup. I'm running Win8.1x64 and have no problems with this game--which means, again, Windows isn't to blame. JFYI...If you have trouble with Windows drivers under your Bootcamp setup--Apple is the appropriate company to yell at...;)

This worked for me as well. Will this cause problems with anything else? Does it need to be changed back to normal when not playing the game?

Cixelsid: Just quickly want to mention this for anybody else encountering this type of problem. Overseer suffers from a Buffer Flow Exception at launch - this is pretty normal for older programs, programmers rarely saw the need to secure stack space before viruses started injecting themselves into it. The DEP or Data Execution Prevention feature of Windows 7 will detect the BEX and shut down the process. In order for Overseer to run you will have to add it as an exception to the DEP Handler. You can do this by going to My Computer->Properties->Advanced System Properties->Advanced->Performance Settings->Data Execution Prevention and adding "Overseer.exe" to the exception list.

docmpl: This worked for me as well. Will this cause problems with anything else? Does it need to be changed back to normal when not playing the game?
Well, I usually switch back as a precaution. One thing to be aware of is that eventhough you don't really have multiple displays, Windows will still act like you have a second monitor. This means that while you are on the desktop, icons or windows can end up on the "other screen" (the one you can't see) by accident and its a bit of a hassle to move them back if that happens. Other than that I dunno what problems it would cause.

This workaround helped me with the non-DVD Overseer from Gog FYI. I tried it once with the GOG DVD version and it didn't work but I may have done it wrong. I also have Overseer set up in DEP.

Wait, the DVD version comes with the GOG release? Anyway, yeah the DVD version is very difficult to get running compared to the CD version. I don't have any links right now, but I remember seeing on a tex murphy fan site years ago that you need some very specific video codecs installed for that version (though I could be remembering it wrong).

Just got Overseer free when I purchased Tesla. I keep getting error messages but can play through them. I'm at the gallery and every time I try to put the weigh bar to the chandelier, I crash. Is there anyone else having similar problems?
