If I'd like to try a TM game but would only get one, which one would you recommend?

Since I suck at adventure/puzzle/logical games, I'd prefer the easiest one, but I'd also like a good story.

Thanks.

I would of gone with Overseer its the best one as an introduction IMHO. Under a Killing Moon is another good one to start with, Pandora is probably the best but its the hardest to understand right off the bat.
I would start with Under a Killing Moon, and then play The Pandora Directive afterwards.
Firstly because UAKM is slightly easier to begin with, secondly because there's a few underlying red threads in TPD that are easier to understand and see when you've played UAKM first.

After that, go for Overseer and wait for The Tesla Effect like a motherfucker like the rest of us. :D
I started from Mean Streets and played Martian Memorandum after that, because I like to keep the chronology of the series and play the games in order which they were published. However I have noticed that some people don't like the earliest games and recommend starting from Under a Killing Moon, but for the full experience I recommend starting from the beginning or at least trying those games later, if you already have started from somewhere else.
I started from UAKM and on - greatly in GOG's debt by bringing these classics back to life on modern computers (fingers crossed for linux support in August).
