Hi, I'm on day eight in EliJah Witt's apartment and just noticed that the animation video that should play when you examine an item don't play anymore. For instance the Jackknife should open up, and so on. The only thing happening when I examine an item now is a static picture, probably the last frame of the video/animation (the jackknife for instance is opened up).
Don't exactly know when this happened, since it worked fine earlier. I've tried exiting, and reloading my latest save and still the same problem. I've also tried to go back to a save I had on day one, when I know for a fact it still worked, but the animation still doesn't play.
I noticed all of this when I was examining the calendar you find in Witt's apartment, and the book just stays there, closed and static. I guess it's supposed to do something? I still managed to complete the puzzles there, but it was kinda annoying.
Anyone else got this problem?

Have you tried backing up saves & reinstalling the game?

No, but thanks for the tip! Not sure if there were a problem, if for instance the jackknife was supposed to animate after the first time. I'm now on day nine, and everything seems fine! So I guess it was nothing, and just me getting a bit sleepy :p

if you read a few earlier posts you will find that gog has missed some of the examination files from the game, they are working on a new installer to fix it. I have sent them the files they have missed. shouldn't take them too long now.

I´ve already finished the game in "Lombard Street" and "Mission Street" paths (this last just five minutes ago...) and in both occasions that occurred to me. None of the two books in Witt's appartment can be read (they remain static, just as you've mentioned). I was able to solve the puzzles, but had to give a little look at some walkthrough files I found in the internet. Really annoyng, as you say. I hope the GOG guys fix this bug and make available a new installer. Last, but not least, I'm dying to see Overseer released. It's taking a lot of time to come!

Are they going to announce it as a "patch" or whatever or will we have to find it for ourselves?

just a note to anyone reading this thread, re missing animations in pandora, gog has fixed this issue but you need to download the game again. This was corrected back in july - aug 2009
