Hey

Anyone else having an issue in game with choppy sound? It is kinda marring my enjoying of what looks like an awesome Tex game. Cutscenes are fine its just the sound while playing that is choppy.

your system must be under spec
No sound issues here. I have an on-board sound card.
Not at all, did you play the demo? Was sound choppy there too? Try updating your audio drivers.

where is the choppy sound in the video play or game play as someone did have a problem with sound being out of sync until they unticked 2k video in settings.
I played the demo and did not have an issue with the sound in that.

The sound only stutters during actual gameplay. All the cutscenes are fine. Checked the Steam Forums and it seems others are having the problem there so atleast I am not just the only one.

I tried unticking the widescreen option and that has not fixed anything, also reducing all my graphics settings hasn't done anything either.

Hope this gets fixed ASAP.

No issues on the Mac (late 2011 model, i5 Processor).

When in doubt, lower the resolution and/or graphics options.

Interesting you bring up the sound issues, though. Doing some snooping online and it looks like it's a problem with some users (enough to get picked up by google when you search for it). Hopefully if it's not a hardware issue, patches will be coming soon enough. I've already ran into a few minor separate non-related issues on the Mac version (posted on another forum). Good luck and hopefully your issue gets resolved soon enough, this looks like one hell of a game.

Tesla Effect doesn't seem to be a hardware intensive game. Graphics outside of the FMV scenes are reminiscent of the early 2000's.

Yes I had choppy sound, but I found a solution of sorts.

I disabled Video 2.0, Lower the Rendering settings at the bottom to low and when I tried it again the sound worked fine. I haven't tinkered with increasing the rendering settings to medium though so.
Same problem here, it started right away in Tex's apartment, the crackling looped fax machine sound. Turning all of the settings up seemed to help, but Tex still stutters a bit sometimes repeating a bit of dialog.

"Chelsea's news - newstand is empty..." etc.

It only happens during the 3D roaming parts, not during the video scenes.
Same here.. But then I went to the Beach house. And now crystal clear. Guess I can't go back to my office then;-)

To me that means it's either corrupted data during the install. (uninstalling, re-downloading, and re-installing might fix it) or your machine just isn't powerful enough to run the game. Frankly the system requirements for this game are insanely high, much higher than they ought to be.

AMD Quad core@3.00 GHZ

Call me old school stubborn.. but I do not think so?
Choppy sound here as well, but only when in conversations; didn't experience it in the demo. Changing from 2K video -> standard seemed to help a bit.

PC specs:

The laptop (Win 8.1 / Core i7 / 8 GB / HD 4600) was choppy.

Then I tried it on the desktop

8 Core 3.90Ghz
16GB Ram
GTX 480

It played smooth.

What version of windows are on each platform? I have a laptop with Windows 8.1, before I spend all evening downloading/installing, wondering if I'm going to run into a glitchy game.
