I have the GOG.com version of Tex Murphy: Overseer and I have the midi music working during the game. However, although the movies are running, they have no sound and subtitles are shown. Any suggestions (perhaps a certain codec that I am missing?) I have Windows 7, by the way.

maybe you have muted the sound in config panel, midi is muted by default due to crashes later in the game, check it again
Thanks, I have checked that but in the game everything is fine, only during the movies trhere is no sound at all. Is there no one else that's having this problem?

plumgas: well the dvd version needed a decoder & dvd express was the one we all used, but the gog version is cd & the video were running on smacker & rad tools . A long time ago I extracted the video & played the file with rad tools. maybe you have something on your drive that is causing the conflict. By the way the video files are in the data folder & you just rename with the .smk extension & they should play with smacker tools. the first file is- tex talking to chelsea at the start of the video. Maybe you could try it out on another pc to see if its just a conflict with something on your pc.

hello everyone, i hope i'm doing the right thing by posting in this old thread.
i just downloaded the gog version, but have no sound in the intro video, i can hear tex's voice (only his voice, i don't know if there is supposed to be music?) once i am in the office and look at things, but none before that point :(
i hope someone can help me, i've been googling, but found no help so far.
thanks in advance, harvey.
